“Unbeatable location, lovely menu, good service - hefty price tag!”

Dinner for 3 - special occasion - outside edge table with terrific view over Thames on a lovely sunny evening. Cocktails not inspiring. Food terrific. Attentive service although our friendly waiter brought three more glasses of wine instead of the water which she had requested and we didn't want to upset him -- that added £57 to bill. He should have queried order as to whether we would like a second bottle of wine which would have cost less. Criticism service automatically added to bill - should have option to tip. Bright clean modern restaurant. Would recommend and return.

“Not what I expected...”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Booking the OXO Tower Brasserie online was easy enough and they confirmed with a text, email and phone call. When we got there the table was lovely and situated outside of the balcony which was very welcome as it was such a hot day. However the choice of food on the menu was overall very poor and expensive, and you can also only order the set menu at very odd times of day (something like before 6 and after 10). The children's portion also seemed to be the same size if not bigger than the adults main courses. The drinks menu was also inadequate and expensive. Prosecco and cava are NOT on the list. Overall the service was poor and the dinner (for my graduation) was certainly not what we were expecting.

“A precious moment spoilt”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

It's been 6 years since we were last in London. Having spent some lovely evenings at Oxo in the past we chose to catch up with good friends on our last night in London. Wanting a sophisticated space for conversation and a great view we decided on the restaurant rather than the bistro, what a mistake that was.
The table was booked months ago, one element that makes this restaurant successful is the fabulous view across The Thames and London, however we saw none of this as we were place at a table at the back, where we were subjected to out going chaotic food service from the kitchen and the dirty dishes and rubbish bins. The service (?) was practically non existent, having to regularly ask for our wine glasses to be filled, the delivery of the food was extremely slow waiting over an hour for our main course. Having the maître de and waiting staff argue throughout our meal was not the floor show we had anticipated or even wanted during our last night together as a group of friends.
So getting onto the food, over priced and underwhelming would be our lasting memory in fact so much so we can hardly remember what we ate.
On a final note, this restaurant used to be the height of designer dining in London, they have clearly crammed in more seating, less qualified staff for the sake of profit.
A disappointing end to our lovely stay in London.

“Outstanding service - lovely food”

The food was swift and quite delicious but the most praise must go to Armi who looked after us, what a pro and a credit to both the restaurant and the industry as a whole. Live music was also great and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Once again though thanks to Armi, you legend!

“An oasis in a desert”

Why is the South Bank so bereft of decent restaurants? National Theatre and Festival Hall patrons like to eat well too!
Oxo brasserie is excellent. A little hard to find at first, but a splendid view from the 8th floor.
On our last visit we took a chance and ate outside on the balcony overlooking the Thames. Imaginative starters of soft-shell crab and quail, both prepared in an oriental style. Then lamb rump, perfectly cooked. In all a great early dinner before a fun play at the National. -- and the threatening clouds cleared . This was the most recent of many visits, all good. Go to the adjacent restaurant for a more stylish ambience at rather higher prices.
