Description: Beach Blanket Babylon Notting Hill is a townhouse serving quality British food and inspired cocktails from lunch till late. Our menus update seasonally and our venue is perfect for exploring Baroque, Rococo led design and our Ballroom hosts the best banquets around. Grand fireplaces, glistening chandeliers and exceptional food and drink make us the place to be to take in the sheer decadence of it all.

I had lunch here with 4 girlfriends and I have to say I was a little sceptical having read other reviews. However, it was delightful. The cocktails were to die for, and all expertly described by a very helpful waitress. Overpriced? Yes, but this is a quirky cool place in Notting hill. What else would you expect? The food was delicious, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The sharing dessert plate was sublime . Good and cold Gavi - again horribly overpriced. The decor is unusual, opulent and eclectic. Lovely afternoon. Highly recommend if in Notting Hill area.

Its a magical place , lots of dining areas. We went on Friday night and it was very busy with a great atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We dined in the beautiful chapel (requested online) although it was very busy our table was in an alcove, so we able to enjoy our conversation and dining felt quite special. The food was wonderful especially the Duck , so too the wine and although expensive the Rioja was fabulous. Service was very good and our waiter was very nice and quite humorous. It was expensive but well worth going to for a special occasion and well worth the journey from south of the river

I would recommend this to a friend.

I've been with my partner, we have been welcomed by the manager at the door, he introduced himself and showed us the table; we had a starter, good, and swordfish for me, that was very good, and chicken for my partner, that was ok but nothing special. The wine suggested by the sommelier did pair well with food: very good wine, average price. Our glasses have been always filled with water or wine: no need to call the waiters as they where always discretely checking our table, very good service. Dessert was very good as well. Price: of course is not cheap as it's a famous restaurant located in a posh area, Notting Hill, but considering that we had an average price bottle of wine, it was acceptable. Overall: I wouldn't go there every week, but it's definitely a restaurant to visit with friends for special occasions or for dates.

The look is stunning, very quirky and interesting. However lights had been dimmed a little too much downstairs where we had been seated and everyone appeared to be squinting a bit!

Pet peeve alert!
The restaurant was empty when we arrived. However 10 minutes in, another couple were shown into the same room and were asked to sit on the table closest to us... Which was a bit too close for comfort and felt quite intrusive. The other couple obviously felt the same way as they asked to be moved and subsequently ended up on the other side of the room. I get the tidying up process might be easier for staff after we leave but seriously! it impacts on the experience and feels uncomfortable.

Hubby had the swordfish- massively underwhelming. Very bland and un exciting.
I had the duck- cooked well, however I chose mash as an alternative to rice. Mistake. Mash was very dry.
Desert- crumble was beautifully crunchy and best part of the meal.

Overpriced for what we had, do not feel it was worth the money.
