Went there at a recommendation from a friend.
We booked a table on phone and reached there on time. On arrival, we asked to be sat outside as it was a nice evening.
Once given the table, it took them a while to get the drinks order. After that, we asked for some starters, the guy got one thing wrong and forgot another. Also, they forgot one drink, so we ordered again.
Normally, they would serve salad as a complimentary with certain dishes, but that day, didn't receive that too. The pitta served was cold.

After that, it started to get a bit cold, so we asked if we could have our mains inside, and the rude manager, said, well you asked to be sat outside, so there is no place inside.
We looked inside and there were like 5 tables empty and not reserved.
We straight away said, leave it, we will pay and leave.
When the bill came, finally came the missing starter - cucumber yogurt. Were they expecting us to down it as a drink or what?

For the cover charges etc, they charge and service charges, I do not think they deserve it for a nice area of Mayfair.

Many other places to explore in the region.... Not Al Hamra again.

We fancied this restaurant which was packed outside but was happy to sit inside being a hot beautiful day. We have eaten all over Shepherds Market as the food is amazing all round there. Anyway we asked for a table which they all seemed vague. We sat and waited and waited and waited to be served as this was lunch time, it was packed outside but inside was fine. In the end we had to grab the waiter to order. So finally we ordered the hummus, tabbouleh, lamb samosas and chicken. The food came and it was really tasty & fresh. We waited for the chicken.....we waited and waited again....after 20 minutes we asked the waiter, he mumbled & said it was coming. Ok so we waited , and guess what we waited again......seriously my husband has to go back to work. We then asked if the chicken was coming or not otherwise happy to cancel. Eventually it arrived after 40 mins!!!! Shocking it was only shish chicken which takes only 10-15 mins to cook! We asked the waiter who may be the manager, why it took so long, he said " oh they forgot" not even an apology, oh my goodness as this place is not cheap, £50 for lunch no wine just water ..... Shame as the food was great but the service was appalling!!!

My wife and I stopped into Al Hamra on a Monday night. The place was packed. We expected great Lebanese food, and that's exactly what we got. The food was great and affordable. The vegetarian choices were excellent.

The service was a little sloppy.....but, on the whole, we had a great time!

Really impressive food. Was taken there by a former colleague who loves it. I can see why. Food was fantastic, great selection and flavors, and everything cooked well. Impressive Lebanese wine as well. Interior is somewhat basic, and service was a bit sullen, but I wouldn't let that hold you back. Fully recommended.

I have been at this place for many many times for one reason - food is really good, especially for meat and Lebanese food lovers. Service is ok but a bit slow. You should expect pretty high prices, but food quality and taste worth it.
