We had a lovely dinner at Chez Bruce. The food was interesting and excellent and primarily French. The wait staff were very charming. The prices were quite high. The location is in South London about 30 minutes taxi ride from the West End or Knightsbridge.

Been to a few great restaurants, but Chez Bruce is definitely in my top 10.
Elegant, non pretentious, great ambience and tremendous selection of wines.
Food is worth every penny.

The ambience of the restaurant is very nice. U realise it’s gonna be a very nice experience from 1st moment. They bring complimentary parmezan biscuits (very good!!), different bread types to choose from and nice troufles (at the end) as well as mini palmiers (if u order tea/coffee).

I had the lobster ravioli for starter which was like paradise! A friend of mine had the foie gras which i tried. Soooo nice! Maybe the best i ve ever had-an absolut pleasure!

For main we had the cot du beuf(very good). We ordered it medium, i think medium/rear would be better. The chips that comes with are also very good!

Finally for desserts we had the choco pudding (very good), the rasberry/almond tart (very very nice), the strawberries basket with cream (this was mine and was amazing and very light on the taste!!) and the profiteroles with coffee sauce (my friend was happy).

We accompanied our dinner with 2 bottles of viogner (very good choice-very refreshing and crisp).

We paid abt £100 each, but it was worthy! I will definitely go again!

I've been critical of Chez Bruce in the past for having lost its edge, but recent dinner was excellent with perfectly executed cooking using fantastic ingredients. Lobster and scallop tortelloni a real triumph. Great ambience, attentive but not overly attentive staff and just a delightful experience. Happy to reinstate 5*s.
