Description: Khan’s has just entered it’s Thirty Eighth year in business, and is still one of Europe’s largest and most popular Indian restaurants. Khan’s was founded in 1977 by Mr. M Y Khan and is still to this day run by the same family in London. Keeping all the traditional, quality and standard of this amazing founder. To enter the new Millennium the Khan’s family decided to abolish the sale of alcohol, in accordance with healthy eating & healthy drinking, the adopted philosophy of wholesomeness, well-being and recreating the traditional ambiance – ‘The days of the Raj’. As a result, this has created a more family orientated restaurant for every one to enjoy. The selection of Organic & Halal drinks is vast which includes a selection of Khan’s fruit cocktails all created in-house. Renowned for it’s high standard and quality of food as all ingredients are bought fresh daily, 100% Halal. The menu is extensive with well over 70 main courses to choose from, all using authentic traditional recipes. A few house specialties include Fish Curry, Methi Gosht, Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken, Bombay Aloo and Mutter Paneer. The menu caters for everyone from the Health-conscious to the Vegetarians. Khan’s has also created it’s own children’s menu, whereby, the dishes served are mild, healthy with plenty of flavour. The atmosphere at Khan’s is breath taking; the pace is fast and the service faultless, a unique atmosphere that must be experienced.

“So good i took some home”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Was staying in a hotel just around the corner and stumbled on this place. From the outside it looks like a large canteen really but the clue to there being good food inside was the number of Indian people eating in there. We went in and were glad we did. The food was great, the service quick. Can certainly recommend the chilli chicken masala, the tandoori chops, garlic nan and pilau rice. Was soooo good I went again before I came home and brought home takeaway to enjoy back in lovely Devon.

“Good and not expensive”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Some people may not like this restaurant because it is big and busy, paper sheets on the table and no alcohol is served. I liked it, the feeling inside remains me of the many Indian restaurants I have visited in the UAE. We ate here couple of times and also tried take away, for take away the waiting time was about ten minutes.

The food was really good, spicy when it should be. The size of the portions was good. Chicken Bourji was especially great. And the prices are very reasonable.

“The Worst service I've ever had”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

My wife took me to khan's for a treat yesterday said khan's is one of the top restaurants in London so i went. Upon arrival we were fighting to open the door as we had a baby pram no one came to help us but the waiter was watching us fighting with the door but one of the customers kindly came and helped us. The old waiter offered us a table for two but we were three including my daughter, we said ok thought they might have a lot of bookings. The waiter gave us the menus but never came back to us to take the order but we had to wave them to come to us. We ordered 2 cocktails came after ages and ordered some papadoms which wasn't crispy but the chutneys were ok. We ordered 1 chicken chat & sheek kebab for our starter, they were nice but we've been charged for main not for starters. The main dishes were nice too but not to be awarded. We called a waiter and complained about the bill we've been charged extra, he sent another old rude waiter who cant speak english said everything is expensive these days i said ok but charge us for starter pls not as main coz we had sheek kebab starter 2 pcs cant be £6.40. The waiter so rudely said he went somewhere and had a glass of coke for 1000 rupees lol
He is too rich thinking why is he working here?
Thank you very much for the service... I will never go back there. Good bye

“Authentic Indian”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

The place is big and feels more like a "diner" than a restaurant: paper mats on the tables and bits and pieces of food on the floor. The service was so-and-so: they find you fast, but push quite aggressively to upgrade your order and the beer ordered halfway through the meal never arrived at our table.

Food is good, really deliciously fabulously Indian with no fake wannabe fusion-confusions: hot means hot and mild means mild, rice smells heavenly and the sauces are rich in flavour.
Would recommend it to foodies, but it probably wouldn’t be the best choice for a romantic night out or for a sophisticated dinner.
