I habe been a regular visitor over the past 5 years when I visit London. Somehow they have lost the attention to service and food quality. Its sad as I dont have an alternative for good roast sunday Sunday lunch.

consistently excellent food/drink/service..really friendly....... love it ....... staff are always talkative if you'd like them to be or just efficient and quick if the bar is busy ... sweet garden which gets the evening sun out the back .. brilliantly mixed crowd, some theatre goers , some regulars , some diners, some working on lap tops, some birthday parties ....sunday lunch a smash ...... rammed and big generous plates of food on every table ...... brilliant place

We found this place on our way to the Pleasance theatre last weekend. Great varied menu- the kitchen is behind the bar so I was able to ask the chef about a few of the dishes,I wasn't to sure about. I went for the roast beef in the end- it was delicious. Lovely friendly staff. They also have a really good wine list and great beer garden. Will definitely be back when the sun comes out!

Stumbled upon this place whilst seeing a show at the Pleasance theatre. Friendly service, good wine selection and great steak. Just noticed other negative reviews - we had the opposite experience and will be back.

I'm a local resident and have been visiting the Lord Stanley for the last 8 years.

The staff, led by Jay ever since we've been here, are always friendly and treat us well. The food is good, the atmosphere relaxed (no piped music or TVs) and overall a great place for a drink and bite to eat!

My advice - pop in, have a pint and get to know the staff, their a great bunch.
