Nice atmosphere, although it's become a little less personal than when we first discovered it. It was not as well-known back then and the staff were very attentive. The general atmosphere and service is still very good, and the food emphasises spice rather than heat. It's usually very good, and a relaxed, clean and stylish restaurant!

“A great Indian restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2008

We were staying for one night at the Hilton Canary Wharf in London and did a google search for restaurants in the area before leaving. The Memsaheb came up with some good reviews so we decided to try it when we got there.

The restaurant was actually about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and is located on the banks of the Thames. Although the place is rather plain and quite unpretentious we were given a friendly welcome and the service was quite outstanding.

The food is very reasonably priced (especially for this area) and is really very good indeed. We took a chance on the 'Kitchen Curry' which is a dish that the staff prepare daily for thier own consumption. You are warned that the curry can be quite hot (and it was!) but it was a superb meal. If you are having rice with your meal try the Memsaheb special rice - really good.

All of the staff members wandered across during the meal to ask if we were enjoying it and if we needed anything else.

To sum up; good location, friendly staff, very reasonable prices and great food.
