“Sunday Lunch Oriental style ..... go early or book, it get's busy!”
Reviewed 4 March 2013

2 years after we moved away from the Marylebone district, we were back there on Sunday morning to meet friends and have a walk around Regents Park. For lunch we decided on going to an old favourite - Dim Sum at the Phoenix Palace!

Nothing has changed (including the celebrity wall of shame in the reception area!) thankfully and the Dim Sum menu is broad and has some very enticing delicacies. I had booked as I know it gets extremely busy, and we were shown to our table and the tea order taken. We then ticked our order on the printed Dim Sum selection menu and within 3 minutes had the first dish and our tea. The remainder came very quickly.

The dim sum all came piping hot and we particularly liked the octopus cakes, rice and pork in a leaf and the prawn dumplings and salad cream, yes salad cream!!!! It works. Who knew!

Yes, dim sum is a formula meal, but you cannot beat it when it is served hot and fresh in a busy restaurant. The Phoenix does this really well - but make sure you book.

“Good chinese restaurant”
Reviewed 26 February 2013

Called the restaurant for reservation an hour before. Good thing, because it was full when we arrived. Attentive service and a little attention to our twelve year old with a funny paper dragon. Food was excellent. We had several of their chicken dishes which had a good presentation and taste.

“Simply the best yet!”
Reviewed 19 February 2013

A superb authentic Chinese dining experience, the quality of the rotisserie dishes is excellent as was the Malaysian style curry which my wife chose. cost is on par with provincial establishments which is to be commended as this establishment is a stones throw from Baker street in the capital.
