Recently had dinner as part of a corporate event. Service was excellent and the food was also very well done. Many times when you have a limited number of options for dinner at a corporate event the food can be dull and bland. Not here. Well done, well presented and very flavorful.

Walking through the front door you are greeted with warmth and affection and immediately feel a valued customer. Quite rare in London these days. The front bar serves draft beer - a big plus point although Portuguese lager does have its drawbacks. A warm and friendly place to sink a pint and explore the tapas menu. Big boys food is in the main dining area in the rear. A large attractive atmospheric space with plenty of room between tables. The menu is comprehensive but compact. Realistically I was slightly disappointed not in the quality of the food served, I had delicious Scallops followed by Sea Bass and a scrummy Chocolate Fondant. But was, for want of a better phrase 'Fine Dining'. Artistry on a plate. Half a strawberry, a little bit of this and a little bit of that beautifully arranged. Was it good. Most certainly 'Yes' but somehow I was expecting a more robust Mediterranean offering to compliment and match what was obviously available in the front. Would I go back? Certainly but next time hit the tapas and draft beer. Incidentally one real plus point - very easy street parking outside the restaurant in the evening. That itself saves quite a few bob compared to most central London Car park charges.

I was meeting my daughter in London near her place of work and by chance went into this restaurant to see if they had a table. Initially there was alot of umming & erring and talk of being very busy but we could see that there were several free tables. We were asked to wait for 20 minutes, which we chose to do. We sat at the bar & bought a bottle of red wine to share based on the recommendation of the barman (who offered to let us try several if need be).
The meal we had was exceptional (I had lamb & my daughter had the Sea Bass), very tasty, well presented & with garnish that enhanced the meal.
The atmosphere is calm and warm and would recommend without hesitation, but recomend you book first).

The restaurant is located in the heart of Clerkenwell a bustling business district dominates by architectural bureaus and furniture agencies during the day and a quit neighbourhood in the weekends.

The inside of this restaurant offers a very, very nice atmosphere and a really good setting for an intimate dinner with your partner or a relaxed dinner with business partners. The staff, mainly Portuguese, gave us an excellent service.

We had pork belly respectively cod cheeks for starters, seared tuna for mains and pastels de nata and an almond/apple cake for dessert. The food was not bad but quit uninspiring. The flavours were somewhat bland, and the food didn't give the impression to be "crisp and juicy" and therefore left us somewhat unimpressed. The only thing that stood out was the pastels de nata, which as they are supposed to where served warm.

If the food had matched the quality of the interior of the restaurant this pace would have been worth another visit - which now will not happen.
