Excellent meal - highly recommend the smoked salmon & wasabi starter. The food was universally good and the service was outstanding, friendly and attentive. The restaurant hit the right spot in terms of being welcoming, relaxed and comfortable yet classy. A hard combo to pull off.

I visited this restaurant after my partner read the reviews on trip adviser. We were not disappointed. We were the first to arrive for the evening sitting and were offered the option of sitting in the air conditioned part of the restaurant - a must during the current heat wave. After a lovely refreshing glass of Pimms (not on the menu) we ordered from the simple but delicious menu. The food was freshly cooked and tasted wonderful especially the salmon and crab meat starter - I could have eaten this for all three courses. My partner had the ravioli followed by a very generous steak and traditional 'chips' (not fries!). My risotto although lovely did not quite reach the same outstanding standard of the starter. We shared the refreshing assiette of lemon deserts was wonderful. Faultless service, reasonably priced wine list and outstanding value for this part of London. A great place for a lovely meal in firendly and comfortable surroundings. Great food with good prices. A fabulous family run restaurant. We will certainly return.

We were a family of 6 ( all adults) in london for the European rugby Cup final and staying not far from the restaurant. Booked it in advance based on earlier Tripadvisor reviews .
We all enjoyed the experience, the service was the best part, very friendly and helpful . Overall the food was really good the only exception being a vegetarian dish which was not up to the same standards or quality as the non vegetarian dishes. Especially good was the Scottish beef - cooked to perfection and great taste.
If we hadn't a vegetarian in the group we would probably be raving about the place, specially the staff

I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor, having read the positive reviews and decided to give it a try.....it didn't disappoint. The service was good being friendly and well paced. The food was lovely and hot, and the wine perfectly chilled. The portion weren't meagre, but not over facing and the restaurant as a whole had a relaxed atmosphere with a cliental that seemed to be full of friendly regulars (one even offering without asking to take our photograph, it being a special occasion). If you want a restaurant that is not pretentious with over inflated prices serving good quality food while visiting London then you can't go far wrong with Whits. Well done, we'll call again!
