The pleasant restaurant interior, with its bright skylight and elegant ironwork, adds to the welcoming vibe, while dishes use ingredients often obtained directly from France to enhance the regularly changing menu.

We had a great day out at Wimbledon and decided to book a local restaurant as we were staying in a hotel at Earls Court. We found Whits and what a fantastic find it was. When we arrived we were presented with a welcoming glass of champagne by the owner. This was to celebrate as we got engaged earlier in the day. The menu was one where we wanted to try all the items on the starter list. I had pear and roquefort and Lorraine had a lobster ravioli dish. The mains were as good, Lorraine had duck and I had lamb. Both dishes were marvellous and the touches of different tastes were perfect. The sweets were to heavenly, especially the raspberry souffle. Don't miss this restaurant if you are in London.

My
husband and I visited Whits on saturday night due to trip advisor reviews expressing the establishment as family run restaurant with friendly welcoming staff and great food in a relaxed atmosphere. We searched London reviews for somewhere special to eat so we could make an occasion of a good night out. On reflection of last nights visit to Whits i have to be honest and agree with most of the comments made by previous customers, the food was fantastic, the portion sizes were all very generous and everything tasted beautiful. Our desserts were so nice we did not leave a single bite and the wine was very good value for money. The staff were very attentive and the host was welcoming.
The minor down-side of the evening was that we were seated in between 2 other couples close together and it was very quiet in the restaurant, it was difficult to have any kind of raised conversation higher than nearly whispering as we were aware of the tables very close on either side.
There is no doubt that overall the venue is a stunning little place but it would probably be better to go with a larger group of people as it felt there was a slight lack of ambience.
We would definitely visit again if we were in Kensington, great value for money with regards to food, drink and hospitality.

Thank you so much for your kind review and we're delighted that you enjoyed your dinner with us.
Unfortunately on Saturday we had laid out the tables according to the bookings which included two tables of six and by the time we had to accept that they were not going to show up we couldn't move your tables without disruption. Had these two tables arrived it would certainly not have been so quiet and may have improved the ambience for you. We do hope we see you again either as a couple or as part of a larger party!

We have used Whit's since they opened. The quality of the food is consistently of the highest order and the service matches it. Stephen Whitney, the Chef Patron, understands the great classical traditions of Escoffier. This means he has a complete knowledge about the extraction and development of fantastic flavours which he uses to great effect in his very modern menu.
The wine list contains an excellent and sensibly priced range of wines and the whole experience is special from your arrival until you leave.
It is very good value for money, which explains why they are popular and busy.

Everything at Whits was great. The food was great. I had both a lobster/scallop ravioli for the starter and then a scallop risotto for the main. Portion size for the starter was quite large, so it was good that the main wasn't that big. The service was great as well, but there weren't that many people there on a Friday night at 7:00. While it was a bit costly, the food and atmosphere worth a trip.
