Even on a slightly grey day in London, the view from this restaurant is spectacular, looking straight at London Bridge. It's quite a special spot.
We were there on a Sunday for lunch at it was lively and buzzy with a good atmosphere.
The food was really good, with an emphasis on quality, seasonal produce. Portion size was sensible - ie small enough that you still had room for dessert without being stingy. It was all delicious. There could have been more vegetarian main course options (there were 2 choices), particularly bearing in mind I had given advance notice that there was a vegetarian with us.
The thing that stopped it getting 5 stars was the slow service. It wasn't that the waiting staff weren't working hard but they seemed to be rushed off their feet, even though the restaurant wasn't full. We had to chase up both bread (to have with a smoked salmon starter) and mustard to have with a steak. Really, in a fairly expensive restaurant, this sort of service should be much more slick, we weren't exactly asking for anything out-of-the-ordinary. If they had one or two more staff members this would have gone from very good to excellent.
