Description: Skylon takes its name from the original, iconic structure that was built for the 1951 Festival of Britain and the restaurant's design echoes the style of the Royal Festival Hall during the same period. Situated on the third floor of the Southbank Centre, Skylon boasts outstanding views over the River Thames from its huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The main Restaurant features modern British cuisine, while the Grill offers more informal cooking and a relaxed atmosphere. The two dining areas are separated by a stunning centrepiece, raised bar which is renowned across London for its fabulous cocktails. Executive Head Chef Tom Cook brings a wealth of experience to the kitchen, following time at sister restaurant Pont de la Tour. Look out for regularly changing menus with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients combined simply and imaginatively. Visit the Skylon website for sample menus and further information.

Nothing captures the spirit of London moreso than the Southbank. So to view the buzz of the city from a spectacular "viewing platform" that is Skylon, whilst sampling an extensive cocktail menu - one can't ask for more. The food is an absolute must - quality & presentation is faultless! Recommend the steamed salmon!!Staff could not have been friendlier and the fluidity of service ?... outstanding!!!

Lunch time set menu is excellent value for money and the cooking up there with the best - a couple of niggles not worth mentioning. Excellent wines reasonably priced and water at only £4 a bottle. Skylon probably suffers from its lacklustre side entrance which means you could miss a great experience

I hardly ever bother writing restaurant reviews but this is worth making the effort for.. My second visit to Skylon recently has confirmed that it's one of my favourite restaurants in London. The cocktails are just yummy - from the classics to the great new summer menu. And the food is absolutely spot on. And unlike some places, it's able to be high quality, without being pretentious. With such charming, attentive and knowledgeable staff guiding you through the food and wine choices and a simply breath-taking view of London, Skylon is without doubt one of the best restaurant experiences that you can have here. As you might have guessed, I love the place!

We went as a party of 3 for some drinks and were happy to have chosen Skylons. The view in the evening was fantastic. The service was very nice and courteous.
We ordered cocktails, which were very good, especially the "Spring Julip". The atmosphere was pleasant, so combined with the drinks it was a great experience for us.
On our next trip to London we will definitely stop by.

Amazing evening at Skylon, following up from a day out in the sun. We got into Skylon around 6 to have a cocktail at the bar...to die for together with the amazing views from the windows. We then decided to have dinner in the Grill, we didn't get a window table which was ok, we were treated perfectly by the smiling staff and food was good too. It's a great place to go as they really know how to look after their customers.
