“Fresh, delicious, appetising, a real treat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

Off to a matinee at the Young Vic we sort out somewhere to eat from the several restaurants around here. I was immediately drawn to the welcoming frontage, to the crisp clean table cloths, to the reasonable prices of Tas Pide. In we went and I have to say we enjoyed one of the finest meals we have had in a long time. The food was so fresh, so flavoursome and yet light and delicious. it was beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive, yet not intrusive. The entire restaurant was spotlessly clean. I even saw the manager in a spare moment discreetly wiping down surfaces. The staff worked as a team. I saw a chef on his way up to start his shift taking time to smile and share a few words with a waiter, who, idle for a rare moment was cleaning the stairs. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. Not only was it a wonderful dining experience but it was moderately priced - excellent value for money - a rarity these days. We were so delighted we returned a few days later. Often when you do this you are a bit disappointed. We weren't. It was just as excellent. So if you are looking for somewhere to dine in London, our advice is don't waste your time walking the streets, head straight for Tas Pide!!!!

“Cheap for the location, lovely-looking interior, food decent but not outstanding.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

Four of us popped in here on the bank holiday about fiveish, and though the restaurant was already busy they squeezed us in. Service was good throughout, especially considering how busy it got.

It's a lovely looking place inside, open and airy with an open kitchen and a bread oven always in the go, and a strong Turkish feel to the decor. They had a live musician playing traditional arrangements while we ate; he was excellent, and really added to the ambience.

While the meal was surprisingly cheap considering the location, the food was just ok. Certainly nothing to complain about, just a little bland and uninspiring - a bit of a shame considering how much we liked everything else.

That said, for the price, service and setting we'd definitely give it another go.

“Perfect for the Globe or Tate Modern”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

This friendly little restaurant is virtually next door to the Globe so is perfect for pre theatre dinner. At 6:00 on a Saturday there was live music and a bustling atmosphere. The menu has plenty of choice and is great for vegetarians. The Turkish pides are delicious and reasonably priced. Choose the lager rather rather than the wine !

This restaurant is tucked away behind the Globe Theatre. The food is excellent and out of the ordinary. We had a selection of meze which were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful.
