Vinoteca always was a pleasure to visit. Great wines, interesting food, friendly service, if you can put up with the cramped tables. the However, I had avoided it for some time due to intrusive Crossrail works (for which I hope the restaurant has been compensated!). I decided to return: wines and food are still good, and service is as helpful as ever. That said, the environment is unpleasant. Getting to the restaurant is still a herculean task: if you can navigate the complicated (and overrunning) crossrail works, your risk being run over by cyclists speeding on the pavement. If - and it is a big if - you can make it into the restaurant unscathed you will be in for a treat. It is a shame that such a gem is being ruined by intrusive construction work.
