Unbeatable for breakfast - a very warm welcome from really friendly staff, excellent food and real value for money. What could be better? My first visit was last week but it will definitely be on my list on future visits. It's a real find!!

If you go to London you have to go to the Garrison. I have tasted a very good smoked haddock and a very good dessert. Very nice and friendly service. Location ok and very nice warm atmosphere.

First time in ages we went out without booking anywhere and found ourselves at the Garrison, popped in to see if we could get a table and they said they could seat us in 40 minutes so we went for a drink first.

Really nice vibe in the place, felt like being somewhere on the coast with all the clapboard panelling. Interesting Gastropub menu, not going to set the world on fire but it was all familiar stuff. I have to say the service was good so no issues there. if I have one gripe there was a definite scrimping on some of the ingredients, my crab on toast should have been a generous mound of sweet crab meat on top of a smear of dark meat instead with was a thin spread reminiscent of Shippams. Puddings were pretty much cake with ice cream, it would have been nice to see some variation on dessert.

All in all a good experience and we had a lovely night.

After a long business meeting 5 of us, not from London, were looking somewhere to eat close to offices, one of the office staff recommended this place. When we went in it was busy and one table for 4 had a reserved sign on it. When we asked they accommodated us at this table and added another place so presumably the other 4 didn't turn up.
The menu was quirky with not your usual bill of fare however we all chose something which we said was tasty. Staff are attentive, numerous and friendly. Restaurant is busy with a nice atmosphere with a mix of couples and groups eating and chatting.
Food was slightly slow coming out but one would only assume that it is fresher cooked for same and you can't argue with that. Deep fried squid was very light, fresh and crispy and thus time as it was cooked just before serving not sitting around. All in all a good spot

When we lived just off Bermondsey street a few years ago this was a regular haunt for us. Local crowd of trendies of all ages. Returned last weekend to try the Sunday lunch. Excellent bloody marys and pea and mint soup with morels. The roast beef was nicely presented but the gravy a little too thin, the yorkshires rather heavy and the meet extremely gamy. Nice pudding. All in all good but next time I will go for the chicken or pork and not the beef. Good service from Kiwi waitress. Overall price including drinks about £55 a head
