Description: Not many restaurants have a loyalty scheme, which just goes to show how very loyal Rowley's long-time regulars happen to be. The room is traditionally British, but also informal and relaxed. The menu changes monthly, and always features Rowley's tremendously good char-grilled entrecote steak or breast of Sussex chicken with herb and butter sauce and endless chips. The trad Caeser salad is also terrific. Short, intelligent wine list and the sun-dried tomato chutney served with the cheese is just right. Great for business lunches, or pre- or post-theatre.

Rowley's is a Jermyn Street institution with good reason. One of the finest tiled and mirrored dining rooms in London, Rowley's stays true to it's roots and perfects what it does. A steak and grill restaurant that doesn't overstretch itself, we had a fillet steak and lamb cutlets which were cooked perfectly with the butter sauce complementing it well rather than overpowering the flavours of the meat. A good priced wine list and excellent service - available if you need assistance but in no way overbearing. Try and request a table in the front half of the restaurant to appreciate the decor.

#1 Tip: do not believe the booking system as they normally can squeeze you in.

Located just around the corned from the infamous wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd, they have an excellent value house wine I'd highly recommend.

They sell some excellent steak with unlimited chips.

The only downside was their 'finest chocolates' that contained three mini mince pies and three other mini chocolates that were worse than Thornton's (it was January, mince pies should be off the menu).

We had dinner here after attending a matinee theatre visit. We were warmly greeted by Monica, the Manager. First class food and service and our steaks were cooked to perfection! Unlimited "fries" with your meal so beware if you're on a diet!!!
Excellent wine list and with a current 25% off the food bill this makes for quite a reasonable night out!
Once again, well done to Monica and her team who help to keep this place buzzing!

Rowley's is a hidden gem in Jermyn Street. The extensively interior is actually very intimate and welcoming. Our food, while simple, was nicely presented and of very good quality. We each had a steak which came sliced and with a Roquefort butter in a pan which was then kept warm at the table...a nice touch. This was combined with unlimited (!!!) string fries. I tried to test this, but after thirds had to admit defeat. Very friendly service as well. Really good.

I made a booking by walking in to the crowded restaurant, for a late meal with a friend who was travelling from Somerset. The booking was for 2 hours in advance; and OK, we were late anyway ! But it was simply no trouble to the management, who found us a nice table and served us happily into the late evening without making us feel that we were in the way even though we were practically the only diners left in the place by the end. Beef entrecote is highly recommended, sliced and sizzling on the warmer on the table, nicely balanced by the House Red which is excellent - real quality wine, unlike some House offerings we have experienced.. The ambience is very good, the right lighting level for dining, and the room was very full even for a mid week mid evening session, so there was a good buzz. All in all this was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend trying it if you need to make a choice in that part of London.
