Description: Not many restaurants have a loyalty scheme, which just goes to show how very loyal Rowley's long-time regulars happen to be. The room is traditionally British, but also informal and relaxed. The menu changes monthly, and always features Rowley's tremendously good char-grilled entrecote steak or breast of Sussex chicken with herb and butter sauce and endless chips. The trad Caeser salad is also terrific. Short, intelligent wine list and the sun-dried tomato chutney served with the cheese is just right. Great for business lunches, or pre- or post-theatre.

Was invited here for a business meeting and had a very good meal. Excellent prawn and crayfish cocktail, entrecôte was melt -in the mouth and full of flavour, fries and mushy peas great accompaniments and in abundance.

Service was friendly.

One star off for the prices but I guess this is the centre of London.

Worth a go if your wallet is up to it!

This was a travelzoo offer for Chateaubriand and house wines. Excellent value. The steaks were fabulous and perfectly cooked with proper french fries. An old business acquaintance happened to be in there and transpired it was a regular joint for him, one of his favourites, and as someone who has had more business lunches than most people, quite an accolade! The house wines were extremely good, especially the red.

Rowley's is my favourite restaurant in London. The quality of the meat is outstanding and the cooking is superb. Unlimited fries!! Their service with a smile is also quite a rare find these days!!!

We had a Travelzoo voucher for this delightful restaurant - recommended by friends - and interestingly it was reviewed in the Weekend section of the Saturday Telegraph (given 8/10 and a glowing review) 48 hours before our planned visit...we weren't disappointed! A chateaubriand (for 2) with a pot of Roquefort butter plus a glass of wine and unlimited fries for £20/head - a superb way to spend a Monday lunchtime. The staff were attentive with efficient service and yes, the fries kept on coming! To be honest I would not pay £68 (as listed on the menu) for the chateaubriand - unless it was twice the size of the one we had - ours was perfectly adequate. We had no starter or dessert but did order a bottle of the house wine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant - please note the fabulous tiles...a left-over from its origins as Wall's the Butchers (as in sausages!)
