Description: Not many restaurants have a loyalty scheme, which just goes to show how very loyal Rowley's long-time regulars happen to be. The room is traditionally British, but also informal and relaxed. The menu changes monthly, and always features Rowley's tremendously good char-grilled entrecote steak or breast of Sussex chicken with herb and butter sauce and endless chips. The trad Caeser salad is also terrific. Short, intelligent wine list and the sun-dried tomato chutney served with the cheese is just right. Great for business lunches, or pre- or post-theatre.

First time visit after a theatre visit with family and great atmosphere and friendly staff. Great selection of food and wine. Will comeback as great position for shopping or theatre. Worth a try.

Well it took friends from Seattle to introduce me to this restaurant! Fabulous dinner, maybe not your place if you don’t eat red meat! Great martinis, good wines by the glass, 2 entrecôte and one chateaubriand, great sides, great fries, oh and even though we were pretty full we had to share a sticky toffee pudding! Great service, window seat was fabulous to observe guests and passers by, when something interesting caught our attention! I’ll be back!

Rowleys feels like an institution when you enter. It is a classic central london Piccadilly restaurant. Small bistro tables, buzzing atmosphere (even at 2:00pm on a Thursday).
The bread delivered to table was warm and was dispatched in minutes.
Starters: the lobster and cod fish cake was a joy, full of flavour with a crispy crust. The smoked salmon, was, well smoked salmon, the goat’s cheese salad was a touch underwhelming.
For mains we all had steaks with unlimited fries. The stakes were served on a heated skillet on a parafin heater. They were perfectly cooked to order. The ages entrecôte was full of flavour. Something to consider is that if you like to take your time with your food, order it one shade rarer than usual, as over time it continues to cook. The fries were fresh hot and crispy. Creamed spinach good, Brussels Good.
Deserts, we had the panettone, and in honesty, it was a disappointing way to end the meal.
Having arrived at our table at 2:00pm, we were surprised to be asked to settle up and that service had closed at 4:30pm, although we were welcome to finish our drinks.
Overall a very pleasant meal, but some peculiar shortcomings in service and courses given the price. Happy to return, but if we do it will be all about the meat.

Fantastic atmosphere generated by Monica and the team here. Go for the steak and endless chips and you get to cook it yourself.

We had the ‘famous’ entrecôte with Roquefort butter. Arrives in chafing dish. Ordered rare. Came blue. Side - Brussels sprouts w ham which was very good. Chips ok. Wine list pitiful. Had Berry’s Good Ordinary Claret which was only the noun: thin and young. Service OK but when will these people get over themselves and their 12.5% service charge?
