“La Movida a fantastic local restaurant.”
Reviewed 27 May 2010

Previous and only review . .UTTER ROT! As a Battersea local and frequent flyer all over Spain, I couldn't disagree more. The Chef Jose is Portuguese and cooks Tapas as good as any Spaniard .. probably better. La Movida is an absolute ruby in the rough . .noisy Battersea Park Road and a chilled and friendly bit of Spain awaits. Fantastic Chipirones Fritos, Monkfish and Patatas Bravas . .. faultess.

Ignore Surrey Snob . .support your local Battersea Restauarant, best in Londontown!

“Don't waste your money”

This is a disgrace in all aspects. The food is supposed to be Spanish but if you go then avoid the paella at all costs. We tried the Merisco Paella (fresh fish and shellfish) and it was served in the pan it was cooked in (no problem there at all) but the contents were pitiful.
Stodgy rice and not the correct paella rice, two large prawns, four medium prawns all with shells on, a few mussels and nothing else.
The owner or chef is not Spanish and the waitresses were Brasilian so what could be expected and the kitchen looks a mess while the toilets are as small as those on buses.
The prices are high for the quality of food served and the wines are not cheap either so be aware and avoid like the plague.
