Description: Chamberlain's Restaurant in historic Leadenhall Market has been described as 'perfect fish in the heart of the city'. With our own wholesale fish business Chamberlain and Thelwell, established at Billingsgate in 1947 to supply the best restaurants and hotels in London. Today we serve top quality fish to a number of loyal clients. The restaurant extends over three floors that look out onto the stunning Leadenhall Market with a ground floor restaurant, intimate mezzanine, slightly more formal first floor restaurant, brasserie and basement bar with its original brickwork, high vaulted ceilings and an outside terrace which in warm weather is one of London's favourite places. Chamberlain's is available for private hire and offer complete flexibility- from relaxed intimate dining, formal luncheons, presentations or lively parties with music. The unique layout of the restaurant means we can cater for a small private party of 12 on their own floor to a party of 150 using the whole restaurant.

I recently visited Chamberlains with a client for lunch. We both selected the special that was heavily sold by the waiter.

To my surprise the bill was was over £130 for two, no starters, no sweets, one bottle of water one glass of wine and two mains. I know that most peolple will be on expense accounts and do not care about the prices but this restaurant is overpriced and to be frank of average quality.

“Expensive and not overly good”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

Chamberlain's Restaurant is right in Leadenhall Market in the "Insurance District" of London. Unfortunately the quality of the food was not very impressive and combined with the relatively high prices I would not recommend this restaurant. Service was rather slow and we had to "call" the waiter multiple times to order and pay.

“Reliable fish with flair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

A long established restaurant in atmospheric Leadenhall Market. Caters to a business crowd and serves them well with well executed dishes, mainly fish but also with a decent meat and vegetarian selection. Plenty of space with tables inside and outside in the market, so most tables not too crowded together.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

The place was quiet and perfect for client meeting over dinner . The food was not very special and lacking in flavour. The portion of gnocchi had exactly 7 pieces of gnocchi so we were lucky the waiter changed the bread basket so wwe did not go home hungry. Very expensive and not justifying it. Shame as it is so hard to find a quiet and calm place in he City.
