Description: Tucked away in a leafy corner of Maida Vale in north London, Le Cochonnet is every W9-denizen's favourite local gem. Located on the junction of Lauderdale and Castellain Roads near Elgin Avenue, this colourful Mediterranean eatery is always busy with local families and couples who adore the thin-crust pizzas, salads and delicious pasta dishes. The restaurant isn't far from the Paddington Recreation Ground making it ideal for post-tennis Pimms-and-pizza dates with friends. The buzzy vibe and bright decor here make you feel you're on a seaside holiday, and signature dishes include the Fresh pumpkin and goat's cheese ravioli with sage butter; Seafood linguine and the Fiorentina pizza made with spinach, olives, Parmesan and a dense yellow burford brown egg. A private room with outside deck is available and there is also an all year rear floral garden.

Having read Tripadvisor reviews, I was doubtful of going but since most of the negative comments focused on the service, I decided to order takeaway pizzas. I am delighted I did because it was fantastic and I've been a loyal customer for about 6 months now. The service (for takeaway) is always prompt and really friendly! I've tried a few types of pizza but my 2 favourites are Buffala and the four cheese.

I eat here once in a while because their Four Seasons pizza is absolutely divine. And the pizzas are massive! There is a good atmosphere in the restaurant, it has a bar at the front and they usually play some upbeat music.

It is a small neighborhood restaurant on Maida Vale. You will probably only go if you’re a local or really off the beaten path. We went in the late afternoon and seating was not an issue. They are very kid-friendly with a supply of booster seats and very responsive to getting something up quickly for our 4 year-old granddaughter to help keep her happy. Its primary offering is pizza, but there are a broad number of Italian entrees to choose from if you’re not for pizza. The service was very good and the staff was quite pleasant and responsive. I would say that the pizza was Neapolitan style with a thin crust and purist toppings. All the pizzas were a 10-inch pie, a healthy portion for one but not enough for two as a meal. There was a dozen plus combinations to choose from. I’m for some zip in the sauce and bite in the seasoning and my favorite is always a fennel-based sausage, which they did not have. Everyone else liked their pizza. For me, it missed the mark.

Had an excellent dinner mid-week with a couple of visitors from Italy. A little busy and slightly noisy but with ambiance. Very impressed with the service, the Italian chef, with whom my friends exchanged a few words, and of course the food. Didn't wait too long, very flavoursome dishes. I had the sea food linguine my guests had ..yes a pizza! Will certainly return.
