Description: If Archipelago were a film it would definitely be one of the Indiana Jones series. First, the menu features all manner of exotic beasties - locusts, zebra, crocodile and second the decor is an exotic mix of golden buddhas, dwarf palms and giant peacock feathers. The staff will talk you through each dish, but there's also chicken, fish, lamb and extensive vegetarian options. It's a great night out for the more adventurous - or if you happen to be having Ray Mears to stay.

i went on Valentines Day with the over half (very hard to please and super picky when coming to unusual food so a real gamble on valentines day .) we had a password to be seated we was early by about an hour but we was seated this doesn't mean the same will happen to you . we was handed champagne whilst being seated and vegetarian oyster made of seaweed with variety of caviar strange but nice. for starters we had pork belly and crocodile i really enjoyed the crocodile ha a kick from the spices but very nice and the pork belly was very tender and juicy. then we had a aperitif which was a sort of sorbet made from strawberry and champagne. for main we had Alpaca and bison as you can tell i chose the weirdest options available once again nice and with a kick and the bison was a great choice of medium rare and a large steak at it as well. love bug salad was a great side that i enjoyed on myself and for desert i had the medieval bee hive probably the best desert i have had ! sooo nice. overall ambiance s if your on a safari everything is for sale, great food and great hospitality. dont be scarred to try things as the girlfriend after a bite loved it so just give it ago you never know that could be your favorite dish !

Thoroughly enjoyed the visit here with friends. We ordered various dishes from the menu so we could sample each (including the bugs!), and we found all the dishes tasty. I loved the quirkiness of the restaurant interior - particularly the dessert menus being stuck in old books, which we had a read of before ordering!

Warning: Don't order the Butterfish. It isn't Butterfish it is Escolar, a fish banned in several countries due to potential health problems. It can cause Keriorrhea (as it did with me after I ate at Archipelago).

Been there on Saturday; the minute we walked in I was stunned by its ambiance- dim lights, Latino music and quirky bits and bobs all over the place!
The A la carte menu is pretty unusual- zebra, crocodile, bison, alpaca.. ants, bugs, locust..
My husband ordered a python carpaccio, followed by kangaroo skewers with candy beetroots and a side of bugs salad. I was a little wuss and went for veggie 'deconstructed soup', yum!, followed by chicken main.
We finished off with two glasses of Ruby port and Pharaoh's Treasure, a dessert with real gold leaf!
Oh, my.. That was the best meal we had since ages.. The flavor balance and ingredient combinations are just unbelievably good. Definitely will be back!

I went to do something new and unusual. Eat ants, locusts, crickets, mealworms, zebra, python carpaccio, alpaca, kangaroo. And I did all that. What was surprising was how good the food really was... not contrived for the ingredients but really inspired by their qualities. The atmosphere feels like dining in an old English study redecorated by world traveled gypsies. Very worthwhile.
