Description: 'With more soul than a millipede wearing size 17 boots, ceilings and walls strewn with the instrumental heirlooms of a bygone bohemia, this 50s cafe screams throw-back. Successfully and audaciously blending 50s coffee bar, wine bar, club, music venue and breakfast bar with an easy smoothness, this live music haven is the cornerstone of Old Brompton Road, which has refreshingly resisted the modern humdrum of high street homogeny. Comfort and conviviality ooze as you can sup European classic wine offerings or New World fare, nurse a hot chocolate or bury your face in an omelette big enough to swallow you whole.' Alex HomerThe Troubadour, established in 1954, has gently expanded to include a larger cafe and live music club, an award winning garden, a specialist wine shop and comfy wine bar, a great gallery for exhibitions and parties and lastly a luxurious serviced appartments, The Garret, at the top of the building & The Eleanor on the floor below. A great place to relax while the world passes you by....

I went there various times and enjoyed it.The decoration and the atmosphere is really cool , rustic old fashioned + nice music. If the weather is nice , it is lovely to eat /have a drink in the garden! only "hic" last time I though the sangria was not really good and the service was very clumsy (nice staff though), tasted more like a soda to be honest. I had had really nice simple meals there (chicken , excellent chateaubriand).Worth a visit if you like this kind of place.

3pm on a Saturday afternoon, the venue not even 50% to capacity AND 45 minutes for a Burger and a Bacon Roll, absolute madness!
The food is fine, staff friendly, but SERVICE is an issue here. But like most established places in London and within Tourist Hot-spots, it has no problem acquiring passing trade which obviously finances its existence. Give the Locals a thought and those that pop in for lunch that DO NOT have hours!!!!

A fantastic cooked english breakfast after a drinking session the night before. I got the 'reviver' breakfast and it done exactly what it said on the tin. Good service and all in an excellent location. Definitely worth a visit.

I recently had my Birthday party drinks and dinner here. 241 cocktails till 7.30 was amazing, special mention to the strawberry daiquiri and the mojitos! 28 of us sat down for dinner afterwards, most of us had the legendary Brompton Burger which was of course so great, but the fish and chips was a close second. The service was brilliant, being very helpful and patient, which was not easy, given that there were so may of us. All this coupled with a very relaxed atmosphere made a absolutely fantastic night!
