I've been stopping by here at least weekly for the past five or so years since the branch opened. Today was my last ever visit.
Ordered two coffees: latte and cappuccino at around 9.30 am. Cappuccino was fine but nowhere near perfect or Paul standard. The latte was stone cold. Not simply warm, but stone cold (so milk that must have been heated and left to get cold).
I returned to Paul and told the Barista the problem. He said he'd make a new one. Two colleagues were paying at attention including the manager. What the barista actually did was to take the lid off and stick the steam arm into the cold - drank - coffee. Not only is that a totally unacceptable way to solve the problem or even make a nice tasting coffee - but a serious health risk.
On presenting me with the 'new' coffee I asked the Barista if that is how he would normally make a coffee. He looked puzzled, and his colleague had to step in and tell him to make a fresh one. This was hardly any better than the original latte - but forget it and forget Paul.
