We visited as an alternative to eating in the London Lancaster hotel across the road, which we were staying in for a conference on site.
Bread, olives and crudities on the table immediately. Shortish but very interesting and varied menu, and the starters and mains were obviously from top quality ingredients, delicious and substantial. We did not have the room for dessert, much to our disappointment.
We chatted to two other customers. One had been coming to the restaurant for special occasions and nights out in London (from Maidenhead) for over 20 years, which says a lot. Another had pooped round the corner for his evening meal. This is Sussex Gardens when all said and done!
Outlook was villagey, the road is a cul de sac. The atmosphere inside is cosy and french.
One of a very few restaurants clearly marked for a return journey.
We thought that at £50 for two starters and mains, drinks and gratuity, it was excellent value.
