“A smart choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2014

We stayed at this hotel seven nights in January, and we didn't regret it. The first night was a problem though; we were given room 602, which is right next to the fire door near the elevator. Now you have to know those fire doors make a very loud noise when they close. Even with earplugs, we were constantly woken up by the noise. I can't stress how annoying it was.

So the next morning, we asked to change rooms, which we did; we were given room 615, at the other end of the corridor, where we couldn't hear the door. It was perfect. My advice to you : make sure your room is as far away as possible from the fire door.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, big enough. We had no problem whatsoever with our room or with staff for the last six nights of our stay. The breakfast, which was included in our package, is generous and reasonably good.

There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, and Moorgate and Old Street stations are within a five-minute walk. You can even walk to the Thames from there, and cross London Bridge to South Bank.

We paid about 700 $ (canadian dollars) for our week, and it was worth every penny of it. We would go back in a heartbeat; this hotel is definitely a smart choice.

excellent location, first time ever in london I didn't have to use the tube!. Plenty of pubs around near the hotel , would definately stay in this location again.
Hotel newly refurbished & very pleasant
Room was a little warm, might be a bit to hot in the summer?
Had a nice quite room at the back so we were able to leave the window open at night.

Room Tip: we had 647 double at the back of the hotel was quite even with window open.

Needing accommodation during a week-long training course nearby, this Travelodge was chosen for me by my company. When I arrived there, the friendly lady on the desk informed me they had 7 floors and did I have a preference. Only requesting somewhere quiet, they put me in on the fifth floor at the back of the building. And sure enough, after about 9pm you get very little noise from outside. The rooms were clean, the bed wonderfully comfortable, and the breakfasts adequate. The bathroom was a bit pokey but it sufficed. On two evenings I ate at the hotel and both times the meals were fine. I would certainly stay there again for my next course.

Room Tip: At the back, high up, are quieter.

Booked through olotels.com.
2 nights for £168 included buffet breakfast for 2 people.

Great location, a few minutes walk from old street tube station.

Checked in early and was asked which floor we would like our room on.
We opted for middle so was on floor 3.
Room was huge and very clean. View was not good but then I wasn't there to gaze out of the window.
Shower was fantastic, powerful and very hot.

Bar area was nice and clean too.

Buffet breakfast was great. Loads of choice. Cooked breakfast, crossaints, toast, muffins, yogurts, cereals and fruits.
Along with hot drinks and juice.

I would use this hotel again.

Stayed here with our 5 and 3 year olds over half term and couldn't have asked for more. All staff were incredibly pleasant and courteous. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and the bar/restaurant staff were very attentive. Lovely breakfast too. Highly recommended! We'll be back!!
