“A lovely stay”

Friendly, helpful staff in a convenient city centre location. Very hot in mid July! Many London attractions are within walking distance and there are very handy Tesco and Sainsburys metro shops on the same street.

This hotel was good value for money. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to young inexperienced travellers because it was easy to negotiate, comfortable and a relaxed atmosphere.

I stayed with friends after a day out in London.
Excellent value, and easy to access from public transport.
Don't try and check in early unless you're happy to pay the extra £10 charge.
We were also told that if we hadn't checked in by midnight we would lose the room even though we've paid for it!
The hotel and rooms were modern and clean through out.
The only MAJOR DOWNSIDE is the lack of airconditioning, the hotel was very hot and humid and because of this I had a really bad nights sleep due to waking up every hour. A fan was provided however it just circulated hot air.

Room Tip: avoid 7th floor as that was warned to be hot, although my friend was on the 3rd floor and she had th...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night and it was definitely above what we expected from a travelodge. Firstly, the location was perfect; 5 minute walk to the tube station. The area of London is really friendly and tasteful. The travelodge itself was easy to find and is situated next to a tesco express and several other restaurants and bars.
Checking in was simple and easy, no difficulties using the self service machines. The room was spacious, we were on the second floor. The room was spotless and all facilities (shower, TV etc) worked with no issues at all. The only slight criticism I would have is that the room did get very warm due to no air con, however, a fan is provided and keeps the temperature in the room at a comfortable level. You are permitted 30 minutes of free wifi and have to spend £3 for 24 hours. Not too bad but in my opinion should be free of charge.
I was very impressed with the room and would 100% recommend to anyone spending the night in London, the room prices are very good for the high level of hospitality you receive. I cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there but the bar is open 24 hours and the drink prices are very good for London! (3.45 a pint). All staff were friendly and I could not fault the place.

Great location 2 stops from Kings Cross & family rooms, which are very hard to come by in London.
Too noisy to sleep with open window as bins emptied 6am every day by a truck which blurts out reversing messages, like sleeping in a sauna when shut, although we were given a fan.
Passageways and lifts stiffling as well, seems petty, but considering the amount of time you had to spend waiting for a lift it was hot.
Breakfast not too bad, a good choice, but eggs were rubbery and no croissants for 2 days. Good value as the kids eat free. they need more staff at breakfast to clear tables and replenish food.
All in all a typical Travelodge, but they need to do something about cooling the rooms at night, no point have sooper dooper comfy beds when it's too hot to sleep in them!

I always rate travelodge hotels as a travelodge hotel, not to be compared with other hotels, as you know what to expect when you book them, unlike some of the reviews posted
Situated close to 2 tube stations, and about 15 mins walk to St Pauls, it is on the east side of the city. As we arrived by train early in the morning, the hotel allowed us to store our 2 small cases there whilst we went exploring London for the rest of the day, and also allowed me to get changed into more suitable clothes....
When we did book in later, we were warned that due to the outside temp nudging 30c the rooms would be rather warm, but fans were provided.
Stopped in room 260 for 4 nights, and appart from only having 1 set of towels, and no soap at first, room was very well prepared, and larger than many I have stopped in. However, it was rather hot... Toilet made a rather loud noise after flushing as well
Needed the fan to run all night, and had to sleep with window closed as we were on second floor, overlooking City Road, but still got full nights sleep. Very quiet internal, never heard any noise at all. Room was clean and comfortable.
Used bar area, for a couple of drinks, never ate here, but seemed very popular for breakfasts and evening meals.
Plenty of local eating and drinking places within 5 mins walk, including a rather good Wetherspoons only 5 mins away.
Room for 4 nights was about £280, which is good for a London hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at front of hotel tend to be noisier from the main road

Good points are location and easy way to access the room through the main entrance. Also authomated check-in is quite useful. Rooms are very clean. Bad point in summer is the lack of air conditioning .
