positives:
location was good location in notting hill, about 5 mins walk to strip of good restaurants, tube station, etc. note that it is about a 15 min tube ride back into centre of london
close to Laundromat
the building looks nice from the outside

negatives:
- all staff acted bored and disinterested at all times, wouldn't even maintain eye contact after literally15 seconds of conversation like you were taking up too much of there time.
- wifi was malfunctioning for several days. if we asked about it we always got "tomorrow maybe" as an answer for when it would be fixed
- room was the smallest we stayed in ever, even by European standards, no place to open our bags. I had mine in front of the door and we had to move it to get out.
- entire room including floor and bathroom was grubby and sticky
- towels were frayed at the edges
- bedsheet had a long tear in it
- had a kitchenette taking up valuable space, cooktop there but no pots or pans provided to use on it?
- shower was 700mm by 700mm, smallest we've ever seen, bathroom was tiny.
- walls were too thin, could easily hear other guests.
- a replaced toilet roll had been dropped on something wet and dirty like it had been trodden on, we didn't want to use it for that reason.

the whole hotel had a feel like all maintenance activities have ceased and it is in a state of decline/malfunction

Stayed for 1 night at this hotel and found it to be very average, bordering on poor. The room , whilst large, was not clean with a sticky floor and general grimy feel. The shower was particularly nasty in the extremely small bathroom. The walls were very thin and we were woken up at 5 by the hot water pipes and then at 7 due to extremely thin walls and the adjacent guest having an early phone call we didn't particularly want to hear. Was expensive for what it was although good location for Bayswater and Queensway tube. Would look elsewhere!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and were very pleased with our stay. We paid only £69 per night for the room, which was big and had all the amenities that you would require for your stay and big, openable windows. It also had a great air conditioning/heating system which was easy to use. The en-suite was clean, bright and spacious.

The staff were very friendly and held our suitcases for us after we checked out. And the location was brilliant, only a 5 minute walk to Bayswater tube station, and 15 minutes to Portobello Road.

There was no lift, and we were on the top (fourth) floor but I would still recommend the top floor rooms as then you don't have any noise from above. Also our room was bigger than the others we saw, so I would definitely recommend asking for a top floor room.

The only other minor downside was the duvet which was small and didn't fasten at the end so the duvet slipped out of the cover during the night.

However I would recommend this hotel, we would book it again without doubt!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3C, which was at the front on the top floor. Despite the lack of lift, I would rec...

Staying at Hyde Park Hotel in London for business was very pleasant. The room was comfortable and the price was very reasonable for London. Our room even had a mini kitchenette so that we could make our own tea or keep snacks available in the room.
The hotel is just a couple blocks from two different tube stations and there is a ton of shops and adorable restaurants and cafes nearby. The WiFi was free and the staff was very amiable and helpful. For the price, the hotel was very accessible and worth the value.

I decided to book a hotel room at the last minute to save myself a long tube journey. This hotel is very close to all the action and provided a welcome break from the carnival. The room was dark as the shutters would not open. As I was only staying one night, it didn't bother me but I imagine that it would have, had my stay been a longer one.

The room was clean, and so was the en-suite. There is a kettle and some tea/coffee sachets (although cheap generic ones rather than a brand name). There is also a fridge with plenty of space in it so you can store your own drinks/food. There is a small hob cooker - which I didn't need but if you want to have a self catered stay in London, then this might be handy.

I found the bed really comfy - although this may have been because I was exhausted from the carnival!

Definitely worth the money for the location at times like Carnival.
