The house was clean and nicely renovated. Plenty of privacy. The back yard was huge. Makes a difference if you have kids. The owner and management were extremely helpful. We were given the phone number of a taxi company that charges much less than the regular cab_ they have 8 passenger vehicles too. So whether we take the Tube or taxi, the cost of the latter was not outrageous.
We stayed one week at the Ealing House with extended family. We were greeted at the house by the owner and his brother Robert, who manages the property. The house is clearly well cared for, and made for a very enjoyable place to return at the end of a London day. The house is a 5 minute walk to the Ealing Broadway tube station, which is also a stop for the high speed Heathrow Connect train to the airport or Paddington Station. There are several grocery options within a 10 minute walk, including Sainsbury and Tesco Metro. A number of restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance. Ealing is not typically a tourist destination, which we enjoyed after days filled with tourists. It is the last westward stop for the Central and District lines, so it does take some time to get into central London. We felt it was worth it, especially returning to the beautiful backyard and comfortable home. Robert did an excellent job accommodating us, including bringing cooling fans when the weather became unusually warm in London.
