“Excellent food and service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

We were staying at the Captain Bligh House and wanted to eat close to home. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.

“Best Sunday roast this close to the river - probably!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

I live in the area and 3stags easily best roast for miles - really good value for what it is, food ethically sources, staff really fun & helpful. Anyone who leaves a bad review a) doesn't know how expensive zone 1 is for a pint b) doesn't know how to enjoy themselves.

“A pub in decline”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014

It's our second disappointing visit to the this pub now and we've decided no more.

The drinks are expensive, the food hit and miss, good when a hit (portions could be bigger considering cost!) and the staff don't care when the food is a miss.

There was a strange vibe going on inside with a man we were told was the owner or manager. Not at all comfortable to be around. We spoke to a couple of tourists drinking outside who had been told by him that he hates the pub and cannot wait to leave it.

There was also a sweet old lady drinking outside (a proper Londoner) who told us most of the locals have stopped drinking here now because of how the pub changed.

Judging on the evidence, the owner is now very content to just rip off us tourists to fill his pockets before he leaves.

There are plenty of other pubs very local with more affordable drinks and food.

“Delicious fish and chips for lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

Great service, the opportunity to sit outdoors in the sun, and the best fish and chips we've had in absolutely ages! Wonderfully presented, great quality haddock with no bones, fabulous tartar sauce and mushy pea accompaniments, friendly attentive staff. Can't wait to return for an evening meal here sometime :-)
