I've been to the Sands End a few times now and every time I've been impressed by the quality of the food - the menu combines michelin-star style plates (but always with generous portion sizes!) that feature ingredients and flavour combinations I hadn't tried before (I've had the Cauliflower tempura with raisin raita and the Goats curd and quinoa salad which were both amazing) with more classic plates you want on a pub menu, like mussels and seriously good sunday roasts. And while the food is seriously impressive, the pub itself is still a great place to be, whether you just want a coffee and a homemade sausage roll (a must-try!) while you read your newspaper or a fancy dinner for two or a group of friends/ family - the service is faultless.
