I have to tell you that this hotel was the best experience ever. I loved everything about it! First off, their is no desk, so you are always approached and greeted by the front lobby staff and they are the most helpful from restaurant recommendations to entertaining our child!
Upon our arrival, there was not a rollaway bed set up for us.. so they not only put us in a larger room, but we received multiple apology gifts expressing their regret by not having it set up. We half expected the bed to not be set up because we booked the room with points through our card provider... and so I feel Andaz was in no way to blame for that. And besides, they handled the matter in a manner of minutes.
The last day we were there, I told the lady at the front that I was running to the M&S across the street to find more child-like biscuits for my son's preschool friends... I had a little bit of luck, but when we returned home, we received an email asking for our address. She sent us a large package full of sweeties and Cadbury chocolate bars (not common here in the US)!!! Along with a few things to remind our son of his fun in their lobby (large balloon display at the time).

Really... we have stayed in a lot of high end hotels with great, really fantastic service... but I really feel like the staff here went beyond that.

The hotel is a gorgeous mix of old and new... and the rooms are quite large. Not just large by London standards... but large by US standards (for boutique).

Normally I feel out of place when traveling with a child during the week... so many hotels are business people oriented, but they made us feel very, very welcome.

Room Tip: If you need a rollaway bed, the room is larger.

I liked this hotel very much. It is a good combination of a well-known chain (part of Hyatt) with a boutique feel. It is right next to Liverpool Street station providing tube/bus/rail/Barclays bikes travel options and multiple simple food options such as M&S. Shoreditch is a short walk away. It seems to be targeting the young to young-at-heart professional.

I stayed in a "single room" over a weekend and got a very reasonable rate by booking a non-refundable stay about a month in advance. The scent in the foyer is lovely and you are greeted with coffee/tea/juice and snacks on arrival. Although I arrived very early, the hotel was able to accommodate me with an early check-in. The room was compact as one would expect with London, but was very well-designed with thoughtful features such as double bed, full-length mirror, adaptor electrical plugs, handy shutters to easily adjust level of daylight and an eco-friendly bathroom. It is the eco-friendly bathroom that makes the noise mentioned by other reviewers, but this only occurs when you are using the bathroom and seems worth it when you realise it reduces water usage by an impressive 80%. Non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, local landline phone calls and WiFi in room were complimentary.

The hotel has a well-equipped gym. There is also an old Masonic temple on one of the floors, if you fancy a look at something different. I checked out via the web, which I found extremely convenient. This is my new go-to hotel in London.

Stayed here for two nights as a 'Mystery Hotel' deal. It was fantastic! We could not find fault with anything. The customer service was first class and the room and complimentary drinks and snacks were great. So near to Liverpool Street Station, we will definitely be returning!

We stayed here (last minute) via Secret Escapes this weekend to celebrate a birthday and had a lovely time. Very friendly, polite and professional staff, a nice king room and good location. We're Londoners anyway so this was booked purely as a treat. Sunday would not be the best night to stay over in terms of location, as it's on the edge of "The City" (financial) so many places are closed. That said, Spitalifields and Brick Lane are buzzing on Sundays, so you would not be short of things to do during the day. The breakfast was great as were the linens, and bed. Would not have been able to have this experience without a special offer, but very glad to have been here. The tube is very near, so if you wanted to travel to the West End, it would be less than 15 minutes.

Booked a night here through Secret Escapes so got a good deal including breakfast and had a room upgrade. However the entrance is very dark and "hip" - although some of the other common areas were very light and architecturally interesting. The room itself although huge had a tiny window. We were on the 5th floor under the eaves and there were few surfaces to put any pictures or mirrors on the walls but I feel they should try - it would make it more homely and less clinical. My main issue is with the bathroom however as the lighting is not good and incredibly difficult to put makeup on/shave without opening the mirrored cabinet to allow the light on the small magnifying mirror. It all looks very cool but not very practical. Sorry but my honest opinion!! Breakfast was good but again lighting an issue as no natural light - feels a bit like an airport lounge.
