Description: *WINNER OF BRITISH CURRY AWARDS 2013 - BEST IN LONDON SUBURBS*I would like to believe that Indian Moment has played a role in achieving that change in the curry industry. We at Indian Moment, pioneered the use of natural instead of artificial colouring. Our chef's are hand selected to be specialists in making only fresh and organic produce. As a result of which, every dish at Indian Moment becomes unique in its essence and ultimately a signature dish.

Unexpectedly, we had an early evening meal here on a glorious Summer's day last week sitting 'inside' but with the whole of the 'front' restaurant open so we felt outside and watched the world go by. A lovely meal with excellent, unfussy service. The dishes, unlike many Indian restaurants, are individually made and so taste different not all having the same base sauce. Will definitely be going again - and not necessarily just to kill time when SE trains are in disarray

We had already tried to book our Saturday lunch at Indian Moment on their own website as they were offering 50% of their a la carte menu but had received no response. Perhaps the reason was at lunchtimes they now focus instead on what they advertise as a grand thali three course meal for £9.95. My definition of a course is something which follows on from its predecessor, whereas here all three 'courses' including an onion bhaji starter and a gulabjamon dessert are served at the same time and on the same tray as the main course. The menu is confusing. It has two separate lists of dishes, all of which include poppadoms, yoghurt, black lentils nan bread and dessert, and only differ in a choice of main between chicken and lamb curry on one, and a 'non- choice' of fish curry on the other. My daughter was allowed to choose chicken curry with rice from the kids' part of the a la carte menu. This also gave us an excuse to order extra poppadoms to start which were deliciously fresh and crispy. The thalis were generous and tasty, the yoghurts with cumin seed and the black lentils particularly good, although a little below the gold standard of thalis set by Chilli Pickle in Brighton.

Came here last night for a meal to celebrate my father's birthday. It was a wonderful evening from start to finish: superb food, delicately spiced and beautifully presented, very attentive and courteous service, quality ambience and very reasonably priced. I have been coming here regularly over the past 10 years and have yet to sample anything better elsewhere. Highly recommended.

This is among my favorite Indian restaurants in England, USA, and India itself. The food is a great mix of homemade/restaurant-style. Many Indian places are going downhill as they attempt to cut costs and everything either tastes the same or has no actual homemade taste to it the way the food was intended. The quality is the best I have had in a while. We had takeaway and plan to dine-in sometime soon.

My wife and I regularly travel from Fulham to Clapham to eat at Indian Moment. And it isn't for a lack of choice along the way!

Decor & Atmosphere:
The decor is comfortable & contemporary and there is always a vibrant feel to the place. It is equally well suited to groups of friends getting together or a romantic date.

Service:
Consistently good, regardless of how busy it is!

Food:
By far the most important criteria for a restaurant and, in this, Indian Moment doesn't disappoint! Having tried many great Indian restaurants around the world, Indian Moment in Clapham is among the best.

What sets it apart from, even, other very good Indian restaurants (of which there are many in London), is the quality & freshness of the ingredients, the lack of colouring and additives (it looks and tastes authentic!), and the excellent presentation. Zinga Mehti and Chicken Karahi are both firm favourites, but perhaps the most consistent way to compare different Indian restaurants is the effort put into their Mango Chutney. Indian Moment's chutney is homemade, freshly prepared and perfectly spiced...you'll find it very difficult to return to the more mainstream alternative.

Value:
It isn't the cheapest Indian restaurant, nor the most expensive. But for the quality of food, service and surroundings, it offers great value for money. I would, without hesitation, prefer to dine here than *all* of the other more famous alternatives in Central London.
