We rented a 2 bedroom ,2 bathroom apartment for six people. Being in Vauxhall it is ideally situated for all public transport as well as being within easy walking distance of a lot of attractions. The apartment is modern and well maintained and would highly recommend it.
This is the second time of staying in this particular apartment building (first time in a different apartment) booked through the same agency. The location is excellent with ready access to all of central London via bus/underground or via short walk to the Thames and beyond. The apartment itself, located on the 5th floor, was clean, well equipped and as described in the listing. Generally, a very nice apartment. The only significant problem was the lack of response by the apartment agent to the broken toilet. This was reported immediately upon our arrival on the first day. Ultimately we spent the entire week with the main toilet having an inoperable flush mechanism and having to listen to the loud sound of constantly running water, even with doors closed. Irritating to say the least and disturbing trying to get to sleep at night. Aside from an initial communication we did not hear any further from the agent the entire week and the toilet remained unfixed. We would still recommend the apartment but a better response to a serious repair problem would have been appreciated, or at least some communication to let us know what was happening with any efforts to get it fixed.
Its a nice new and clean appartment, you can use both Vauxhall en Kennington underground. Quiet surroundings but also nice pubs, big Tesco supermarkt (fresh baked Bread) in 7 minutes. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is very nice with 3 teenagers. Also Netflix and super WIFI!. Minor points: very hot during summertime (roofapparment) , it's not suitable for 6 persons but 4 (diningchairs, equipment in kitchen and folding bed is bad)
Seven of us stayed here comfortably as it is a very spacious flat. It is within walking distance of the centre of London and near train, bus and underground. There are grocery stores nearby and some good pubs. It was easy to find and it has a well equipped kitchen and a washing machine with rack, ironing board, iron etc. The fold out beds do indeed need some work as mentioned by others. Some of the slats are broken and others fall out as soon as you lie down. The freezer needs defrosting and the dishwasher needs to be fastened down. These are small details though and I do highly recommend this flat.
While Westminster is an easy walk away, over the river; Vauxhall busses and the Tube are 5 minutes from the flat. Great views from the top of the 88 bus. Ask for the excellent Bus map from the information office outside Vauxhall tube station. The beds are comfortable and the water is very hot. Whilst appreciating that people can be pigs with provided towels, perhaps better ones can be considered for the future? 4 out of 5 side lights were not working but that can be easily rectified. Overall a great base for a few days in London.
It's difficult to choose from hundreds of hotels/B&Bs/shortlet in London, and I consider myself lucky that I made the right choice at last. The condo is perfect for families. The decoration is very modern, and everything is provided from hair drier to cooking oil.
The location is great, 10 minutes walk to Vauxhall tube station (Victoria Line) and Vauxhall train station, 12 minutes walk to Kennington tube station (North Line), and 18 minutes walk to Westminster Abbey. But if you plan to go outside of London by train a lot, it's probably better to live somewhere near Paddington Station. For me, it's all right since I mostly stayed in London except for 1 day.
The owner Pamela is super nice. First, she was very responsive and patient, usually replied my email within hours. Second, travelling with a baby is very tiring, and I am very grateful that Pamela let us check in hours earlier than the normal check in time. Third, she let us store our luggage in the condo for the day that we left London for Bath, which really saved us a lot of time and strength. So, thank you, thank you, thank you!
All in all, I would really love to live here again the next time I visit London!
