The RE London Shoreditch

The hotel is a ten - fifteen minute walk from the nearest tube station of Bethnal Green. The staff were busy but efficient. The room was quite quiet and clean. The fridge didn't work despite an 'engineer' coming to fix it, but the hotel kindly provided us with a complimentary breakfast to make up for the spoiled food we'd bought for snacks. The taxi firm partnered with the hotel (GPS London Cars) took us to our evening party destination, but at the end of the evening, didn't turn up for the appointed collection time. When we anxiously called them to find out where they were, they said the traffic was heavy (11.45pm), then quarrelled about the situation and refused to come and pick us up and return us to the hotel. Therefore, if you're planning something similar, I recommend you find an alternative taxi firm who will be reliable. It did cause us quite a bit of distress. We probably wouldn't stay again because of the taxi experience and because it's not close to cafes, shops, etc.

good value hotel with nice bar, lounge area, food. Rooms are good and at the right price, 5 mins walk from Bethnal green tube on the central line. Best of all tho the staff are excellent they are polite, knowledgeable and really personable it really made a nice change from many overpriced London hotels. I would certainly return.

Room Tip: maybe not a room on the front (hackney road) as its busy early and late but apart from that no worri...

Stayed there last Saturday night and first impressions were very good.
The hotel was modern, clean and quite lively. The staff were very helpful and attentive. However, we were kept awake all night by police sirens, racing traffic and noisy people which did not stops until very early in the morning.
I would go back but would never stay on the Hackney Road side.

Room Tip: Not the Hackney Road side.

Not sure that this hotel deserves its 4 star status - It has a nice bar and is very clean but there are loads of problems. We arrived late and tired - the receptionist was hassled and seemingly untrained - didn't seem to be able to get anything to work and our check in took ages. Someone had left the window open in the room ( in Winter) and it took over half an hour and about 4 phone calls to reception to get the heating turned on - apparently they have to turn it on in the basement so we sat in our coats for 1/2 an hour - (couldn't the room have been prepared for our arrival??) Bad soundproofing from adjacent rooms. On a main road, so lots of traffic noise too. Nearest underground station a bus ride or long walk away. Beds and pillows hard, duvets cheap and nasty. Decor, corporate looking and bland. Don't go unless you get a special deal - otherwise, very overpriced.

Room Tip: As for a room overlooking a courtyard. Some rooms have adjoining doors which makes for very poor sou...

Stayed for 2 nights, found the hotel had everything I needed, it was very clean and comfortable and the staff were attentive and friendly.

You can walk to the middle of London, leave the Hotel and turn left and walk for around 1 1/2 miles and your in the middle of it all.

I would gladly stay here again :-)

We stayed here on a Sunday & Monday night on a deal from Laterooms room only (so cannot comment on breakfast) so the price we paid was excellent. The hotel decor was very modern & a cut above the Premier Inn. Sadly the bed & pillows in our room were a bit lumpy & not enormously comfortable, they could definitely do with refreshing so a bit below Premier Inn on that front. However the hotel was beautifully clean, there was masses of hot water, the air con worked. No wifi so just used 4G on phone. The location is great and feels safe. The staff were helpful & particularly so when it looked like I might have to organise a late check out they couldn't have been more helpful, hats off to them.

I stayed at this hotel with a group of female friends/colleagues March 2014. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the rooms etc were not four class quality. The bathroom door didn't fit properly and had to be pulled very firmly to close, the main room door catch was broken off and my quilt cover, although clean had a 7inch rip down the side. I would have been happy to stay here at 3star prices as I believe that's what it us but think I would have got a better deal staying at a premier inn.
