About 10 min bus ride to Old St. Stn. Buses seem to be frequent, so no problem. Taxi ride to Old St. is about 6 GBP. Not too happy that they couldn't respond to their advertisement about the 'hotel shuttle'. They just said it wasn't running. Then don't advertise that you have one. Jeez. Anyhow, room comfortable, front desk helpful, bed good. Lots of space in room, nice size bathroom. There are a few little convenience stores right across the street for snacks, etc. The area looks desolate, but if you head, I think East on Hackney Rd, you will find some good restaurants. I recommend a Brazilian place called Raizes. Yum.

The hotel is new and modern. Rooms are not really big, but clean and modern. Very nice public rooms (breakfast room, bar....), friendly staff. Hotel is not directly located in the city center, but very good bus connection in front of the hotel (lines 26 and 48) with very good service, even in the evening and at the weekend. 15 minutes to Liverpool Street by bus. Price is really okay for a modern hotel in London.

The rooms in the Days Hotel are good, plenty of room and a high standard of cleanliness. There is an attractive bar and reception area. Cannot comment on the food in the hotel as I didn't eat there.

The hotel is not overly handy for tube stations, Bethnal Green is about a 15 min walk away and the area you have to walk through is not the most pleasant. I found myself walking to the tube and then getting the tube back to liverpool st and then taxi back from Liverpool st in the evening as I would not have walked through the area on my own after dark.

During the day I walked into the City, the hotel is about a mile out.

Would I recommend this hotel? well for the price its very competitive but I'm back in London this week and I'm trying a different hotel in a better location.

Though it's a little out of the way we found this hotel was clean, staff were friendly (no sleeping bar staff like other reviews etc) and reasonably priced.
Number 26 bus goes from Waterloo Station to right outside the hotel (approx 35 mins). It's not far from Shoreditch on the bus. Probably 15 min walk. Cambridge Heath train station is about 5 mins walk.
We had a double bedroom , decent sized bed, at the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor. We found this was quiet. We always travel with ear plugs and eye masks but didn't have to use either. Only concern re noise was through an adjoining door between rooms but our neighbours were thankfully not noisy.
Bathroom was very nice and clean with large bath towels (not the normal postage size you get in come places).
I'd happily go back when I need a cheap / clean option for a night out in London.

I agree with most of the very positive reviews already posted. I would add that the food in the lounge is quite decent and very reasonably priced (had lunch their twice), as there's not much in the way of o.k., non-dodgy restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The bus transportation is simple and frequent - the 55 or 26 go to Oxford Circus via Old Street Tube, and to Waterloo Station, so it's easy to get into the city and into the underground system. Front desk staff were always ready to help. I don't think one could find such a polished hotel of this standard in Central London, bottom line.

Stayed here at short notice in order to attend an event at a Bethnal Green gallery, and the good thing was that - as opposed to the hotel where I usually stay - I could walk to the gallery rather than have to spend money on a taxi. Other than that, where do I start? To begin with, as others have said, the name of the hotel is a bit misleading; the blurb on their website goes on about "fashionable Shoreditch and East London" when in fact it's situated in a rather dodgy part of Hackney. The bath was rather small, and there was no actual soap - just one of those annoying dispensers high on the wall, which is a bit of a pain if you want to soak in the bath...and the towels were a bit sandpapery, considering I paid over eighty pounds for the room! The charges for internet use seemed a little over the top, given that any internet cafe in the vicinity charges no more than a pound an hour and more and more hotels are offering free access; and as for £9.50 for a Full English, forget it! There are many local cafes that offer a similiar meal for a third of the price! Admittedly, given the location of the Days Inn, I should have expected the police sirens that kept me awake while I was trying to sleep; but when I went downstairs to have a drink in the bar before going out, I decided against it because the place was full of drunken chavs in football shirts - not exactly a nice atmosphere for a woman staying there alone. The only reason I picked this hotel is that my usual haunts were full due to my having to find somewhere at short notice; yes, it was spotlessly clean and walking distance from the place where I spent my evening, but given the price I paid that isn't enough to get me to stay there in future or recommend it to anyone. Sorry!
