Definately worth a visit. Situated in a backstreet in Holborn, but very busy. Book a table if possible, but staff managed to fit us in on a saturday night. Excellent steaks. Very good dessert!

“Heaven for beefeaters”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

We went there with friends and it is a very popular place - which can be a bit annoying since you are constantly nudged in the back by people trying to shove past your table. Saying this, the food was extremely good. Service was prompt - especially given the popularity. It is rather on the expensive side with all sides costing extra but you get very nice beef for it.

“A little pricey”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

Having found the Bountiful Cow restaurant online we decide to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary with a night in London & a nice steak dinner.
On arrival we both agreed it was a nice intimate little restaurant & as we were a little early we had a drink at the bar first. The restaurant has a basement which accommodates larger parties & we were to sit down there but was offered a table upstairs which we said yes to.
We ordered a starter & a steak each, one bottle of wine & a white wine & lemonade & our total bill was £98.00. The steak which wasn't anything out of the ordinary for £22 I thought was quite steep.

Staff were friendly & we were made to feel welcome

Nathan S, Owner at The Bountiful Cow, responded to this review, 30 October 2013
When The Bountiful Cow opened in 2005, we proudly proclaimed "the finest steaks at pubby prices." This October we thought it was about time we proved it. We did a study, which produced a chart showing beef prices at The Bountiful Cow compared to ten other popular steak houses not far away that have opened more recently.

We keep a copy of the chart behind the bar to show to any diners who are querulous about our prices. Anyone who calls is welcome to have a look. Spoiler alert: the comparison is massively favourable to us.

Fine steaks are expensive, but weight for weight, and with the grill chef's expertise as a given, The Bountiful Cow's steaks are as good or better and far lower in price than at any other steak joint in town. Judge for yourself whether they are of exceptional value!
