“The food was ok, nothing special”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We had to wait for a table and got complimentary wine as we waited. We got a table in about ten minutes in a corner, we could hardly fit in as it was so narrow. The table was small and it was hard to eat at it. We ordered in food from a set menu, we got 8-10 mezes, starters, and could choose a hot dish from the menu. We noticed that the portions we got where smaller than people ordered from the "normal" menu. Our hot dish came on a small plate, we ate it in a few seconds.
They do put on a 12% service charge on your bill, as we know it is not legal to charge it, we asked to pay for everything except the service charges. The restaurants do know about this, but try to get in more money this way. The food was ok, the service very fast, we hardly eaten our starters before we got the main food. You got the feeling like they don't want you to sit there for long. Don't recommend it!

“One of the best choices at St Christopher's Place (just off Oxford Street)”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We have eaten at most of the restaurants in St Christopher's place. This is not a chain and does a really great job in a busy spot.

We dropped in for lunch on a bright sunny Sunday. Friendly greeting, rapid service and nearly all the dishes were great. I will go back for the lamb tagine, the squid looked good. I had the dolmades starter, but was jealous of the guys who went for the Halloumi.

Starters were from £5-£7 and mains ranged from about £12-£20, with great choices at about the £16-£17 range this is pretty good value for central London.

Try for a table outside on a sunny day.

“Sat outside in the Sun”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Had a lovely meal here, sat outside in the sun, was a busy Saturday and staff were helpful , waited ten minutes for a table and had a complimentary glass of wine while we waited.
Food and staff were great - would go again.

“A lovely Restaurant in a "quiet" area of London”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We came across this restaurant just by chance. Very helpful staff. As it was mid morning, we had coffee, croissants and jam. The jam was beautiful and when we asked, found it was rose jam. Well worth a try. Unfortunately we couldn't return for an evening meal, but if you are looking for a little oasis of calm just off Oxford Street, then I thoroughly recommend giving Sofra a try.
