We had been to the sister restaurant, Maggie Jones in Kensington so decided to try La Poule au Pot, didn't realise that we had passed this restaurant so many times. We were early but were let in. The restaurant is so cosy and you felt so relaxed. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was lovely and fresh, a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Returned today for the first time in 20 years. It was Mothering Sunday and the restaurant was very busy but service was prompt and despite having been told when booking that we would have to return the table after two and a half hours we were not made to feel rushed in anyway.

The food was very much as I remembered and we all enjoyed our lunch. This is not "fancy" french cuisine but rather good old fashioned favourites well cooked. I had an excellent Tarte Tatin for pudding but my husband's creme brulee was spectacularly good.

Won't leave it another 20 years before our next visit!

We ate here during a recent trip to London on a Monday night. This restaurant is classically french in both atmosphere and menu. We ordered a selection of starters for our party of 3.La Paupiet e de saumon fumé farcie au crabe was so amazing I nearly ordered again for dessert!. Le Coq au vin was the best my husband has ever eaten. Le Carré d’agneau à l’ail - the lamb was superb and this is a meat I would normally not eat outside of Ireland!.

All in all a great dinner with superb food and amazing service. I cant wait to go back here again.

A varied menu in a cozy setting make this a great French restaurant. Their special "Poule au Pot" is delicious. All of our food was good and the price not too alarming. They were able to pick out some good wine. Highly recommend this casual French restaurant.

Its a shame when they have a conversation with you about how pink you want your duck that it is served totally overcooked - and it was cut through so easy for the chef to see before serving. Nice atmosphere and had a nice time so didn't complain at the time as waiting for replacement dishes spoils a meal. Crème Brule was superb but enough for 2. Also its very odd that their house red wine comes in a 1.5l bottle only.
