Description: Maroush Express may well be the busiest of the Maroush restaurants, particularly in finer weather, when it's not uncommon to see a queue trailing from the doors and extending along the street - though the restaurant seats up to 50 people. The multi-coloured glass tables create a bright, fun atmosphere - the cosy yet lively environment, coupled with fantastic food & service, attracts everyone from families to business people to a younger crowd later in the evening.Open noon to 1am, 7 days a week

“Small portion for the price”

I ordered a lb shawarma which was tasty but small in portion size. The humus was vile but the other sauces were mice. It came with about 4 pieces of bread. For £13 it should at least be accompanied by fries or rice. It's only because of the location that they can get away with charging so much for so little.

“Nice food, expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

We were wandering along Edgware Road and decided to try some Arabic cuisine while in the area. Most of the restaurants along here are not particularly welcoming looking. Lots seem to have groups of men sitting outside drinking coffee and smoking hookahs and don't really invite you in to eat.

This place was a little different and seemed busy so we decided to give it a shot. Now I did look a the menu before we came in so I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. The food was priced around the £5/6 mark for starters and £13/14 for mains. Drinks were quite pricey too. We weren't too bothered by this but as noted by other customers the set up is quite cafe-like and I would have thought a price range of about 10-20% lower would have matched the atmosphere more.

Having said that the food was very nice and actually the problem might be more to do with the decor over the quality of the food. We shared two starters and a main and it was plenty of food. It is VERY meat heavy so veggies beware.

I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return but I did enjoy what I had.

“Good food, cramped place”

Central location, good food. The stuffed grape vine leaves were pleasantly tart, the fatten was amazingly delicious.

“Delicious cheap food”

I absolutely love this place! Central, cozy, good service, authentic Lebanese food! Their Fatoush is to die for, shish taouk and tabouleh are the highlights of their menu! Totally recommend it! Not expensive at all!

“Good food and service....A bit pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

Good food and service but found the prices a bit expensive for a cafe style setting.

Had the mouhammara which was great but expected a bit more quantity for the price. The chicken tavouk was a little dry on the outside, the lamb kofte were excellent and the salad was fab. Family friendly helped us find a good seat with stroller space and all
