I see several reviewers were not impressed, nevertheless we had a snack (toasted cheese and ham) and a couple of drinks and that was all fine. Staff were friendly, food came reasonably quickly (I have a smart phone but no, sorry, I did not time how long it took, but one did not feel like one was waiting, ok?) and the location and view of the river is fab as the entire river facing side is a sort of faceted bay window so even if you're facing the bar you don't have to turn around too far to enjoy a river view. There is also some outdoor seating obviously great for summer. It's situated right on the riverside pedestrian walk between Blackfriars and the Tate modern. It's also nice and spacious. Personally I think it's a great place to rest up and have a drink or meal during your day out in London. Toilets are clean and well equipped.
I would give it a 4 but some of the food is just a little bit too pricey for what it is so I've reflected that by giving it 3.

Thank James P

The good thing about this place is the view over the Thames. The food is ok, a bit rich and if you go for the sunday roast you will be disappointed by the lack of veg. The pork is tender because its been braised and not roasted as per the menu.
The deserts were very nice. The price of drinks is over the top but this is to be expected now in rip off London.
My beef with this place was the service, it was diabolical. Very few of the staff spoke English and ignored people making requests. We actually waited over half hour to place an order and again over 30 mins and 3 requests just to get the bill. We will not return,I just hope they listen to peoples moaning but doubt they will. This is mainly a tourist trap so no one will ever return no matter how much they change. Such a shame.

Can't even make a decent fish and chips. The sign above the kitchen says "All Food Made to Order". I don't think so. My fish n chips came with luke warm soggy chips. I sent it back. A few minutes later the same plate came back. Same chips had presumably just been popped back into the deep fat fryer for a minute or so to heat them up. Soggy batter instead of crisp and golden brown. Mushy peas a dehydrated lump. Friend had distinctly average bangers n mash. The mash was almost pureed like baby food. Good location, good view and good ales but skip the food and eat elsewhere. Not expensive but not cheap and not worth it.

The place itself is full of lovely individuals looking to have anything from a sit down meal, quiet drinks, leaving drinks, etc. in this case the general atmosphere is great however the manager is extremely rude and threatens at any attempt to 'bar' members of the public for no reason whatsoever if he doesn't like the look of them, doesn't like to speak with people at all and has none of the people skills required to be in management. The bar staff themselves are to me fine and do the job fine no issues with them.
