“Hype and bluster”
Reviewed 13 June 2012 via mobile

Was very excited about visiting this place. Great blurb on website, I love South Indian food and was expecting something special. Instead, got rather below par dossa, poor quality fish starter, deep fried fritters n tasteless fish curry and greasey paratha. Only thing reasonable was Rava dossa.

Service for a professional Indian restaurant was poor. Waiter forgetful and table clearing noisey.

For specialist South Indian, the curries were poor and I can get better dossa in Wembley and Leicester where its more about the food rather than the gloss.

“Possibly the best authentic Indian food in London”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

I've been to Rasa many times over the last ten years and it still beats most Indian restaurants in London in terms of variety, taste, quality and service. Meat eaters and veggies have lots of dishes to choose from. It's not cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for. I went to their Dering St restaurant recently for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Note: there is no longer a restaurant on Charlotte St.

“Exotic though expensive”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

A wonderful exploration of what you can do with seafood and spice. One of the few South Indian restaurants in London, with a focus on seafood. Have you ever wondered what deeply-curried Dover sole would taste like? An adventure. Expensive, but worth a visit.
(And don't be put off by the garish pink facade: that's part of the charm.

“Great vegetarian options”
Reviewed 19 December 2011

Visited with friends who are vegetarian and can thoroughly recommend the food. A wide choice of options, which we shared and i particularly enjoyed the dhosas - each dish was distinctly different and well spiced and I will add it to my list of preferred restaurants !

“Going downhill”
Reviewed 1 December 2011

This has for years been one of my favorite restaurants in London. Sad to say, it is on the way down. First of all, rather than smell of food, it stinks like a loo-this is an air freshener being blown in. It ruins the taste of food. Then there is the service which has deteriorated quite a bit. Most important, the food is just not the same. It lacks the edge and seems limp and tired. It needs a reboot!
