“good food but not the offer as advertised”
Reviewed 6 July 2010

We went 21st May, we booked after seeing a great offer online, when we arrived they didn't do that offer and the other set menu didn't really have much we fancied. Even so we odered was very quick, attentive but not pressing. My pasta was great, starter too, my wife loved hers, we had a couple or 3 drinks each and it was £40/50 we really liked it and would recommend it, oh and if it's a sunny day it's nice to sit outside.

“Pretty good”
Reviewed 14 June 2010

We were staying in Trafalgar Square and it was pouring rain one night when we were trying to find a restaurant. Settled on Med Kitchen. I had a fairly average pasta, husband had a lamb (I think) that he was quite pleased with. Dessert was actually a divine cheesecake - yum. Other than dessert, nothing was spectacular, but we had a lovely meal.

“Good quick in and out Italian”
Reviewed 11 May 2010

Good reliable pre theatre venue. Good food and quick service as promised on the tin. Not especially cheap but didn't expect that from what must be a tourist special.

“Med Kitchen - dishonest websites”
Reviewed 19 February 2010

We actually went to their branch in St Martin's Lane WC2 and they would not even offer us the pre-theatre menu they advertise on their website! Seems that this chain draws clients in with misleading offers. Food was nothing to write home about and the manager chose to ignore us for orders for a long time after we questioned him about the pre-theatre offer. Certainly not going back!

“Pre-theatre meal - not the price advertised!”
Reviewed 27 January 2010

My husband and I went to the Med Kitchen at Cambridge Circus last night as it was conveniently located across the road from the Palace Theatre as we were going to see Prescilla Queen of the Desert.

Availability wasn't a problem - we didn't have a booking so was pleased to be seated immediately. Initial service of ordering drinks was quick and with a smile. However we were both disappointed with what was to come.

We ordered the pre-theatre menu which is a two course meal for £13. Having given our order we were asked "anything else?" by the waitress. Her expression was as if there was something else we should have ordered - so we looked at the menu again and spotted that my main dish excluded vegetables and my husbands excluded potatoes. Suffice to say the 2 course meal wasn't exactly as advertised meaning we had to spend another few pounds on what I would not consider extras!

My husband ordered the goats cheese starter. Lets just say there was only a few crumbs of goats cheese so he had to ask for more. They were quick to remove the wine glasses part way through the meal without asking if we wanted any more wine with our food.

The main courses themselves were fine and the quantity was plenty for pre theatre but overall with the additional food we had to order and the regular calling of staff for things we shouldn't have had to ask for was disappointing.

Would not hurry back there for a pre-theatre meal.
