We stayed here during our Coast to Coast Walk and had a lovely stay. The pick-up to and from the trail as well as to and from the pub in the evening was great and worked well. Our room was really beautiful and for breakfast we chose the cheese plate instead of the cooked breakfast. The cheese plate was huge - it was a lovely breakfast. Highly recommend to stay here.

Stayed here on the Coast to Coast. Although Chop Gate is a little way from the path, the owners will collect you from Clay Bank Top and then drop you back the next morning. A warm welcome, comfortable room and hearty breakfast. A lift is provided to the local pub for food in the evening. Would definately recommend.

Stuart and Judy were wonderful hosts. Their B&B is away from the Coast to Coast path but well worth a visit. As other reviewers have mentioned Stuart will pick you up and drop you off at your walking point as well as provide driving service to the local pub. Couldn't ask for better.
Our room and ensuite were cozy and clean. Fresh milk for our tea was a special treat!
And I must mention the breakfast - it was terrific - West Cote was the only B&B (out of 20 in the last month) to offer a cheese board option! Judy was the cheese expert and took us on 'a tour' of a large selection of local cheeses. Each was unique and very tasty.
If we ever get back to the area I would definitely book at least a couple of days at this wonderful B&B.

Most B&Bs allocated on my 14 day Coast to Coast walk were satisfactory to good; a couple were poor - this was undoubtedly the best. A little out of the way but Stuart's taxi service was rendered with a big cheery smile - as was my free taxi to the Buck Inn (very good food - just a little too far to walk at this stage of the trek). The room was excellent - light and airy, modern furnishings and en suite - and I got wifi as a bonus. Breakfast was served by Stuart - Judy had left very early to show the family pony at Hexham - and included real marmalade instead of those plastic capsules beloved by so many B&Bs. yes it is a little isolated - but don't let that put you off - book with confidence.

Hosts Judy and Stuart made our stay at their slightly out of the way farm B & B pleasant and memorable. Their enthusiasm, warmth, cheerful natures and conversation long remembered after a five week stay in various UK accommodation.
Our upstairs attic room was small, a cosy country feel, a little quirky in layout, sloped ceilings with very compact ensuite shower and toilet; good hot water supply. Our friends adjacent room was much larger with a large skylight and ensuite bathroom. In room tea and coffee making facilities were also provided, none of those fiddly, plastic milk sachets here, a generous supply of milk kept cold in a small insulated stainless steel thermos, brilliant idea. Due to the out of the way location off both the Coast to Coast and Cleveland Way route, a walkers pick up and next day drop off service is offered, included in the stay. We were a little concerned as to how this would, in theory work, so, as directed in our previous emails with them, phoned the night prior to our stay providing an estimated time of arrival at a location point. Our concern was that we would wrongly estimate our ETA, however our concerns were dispelled with the advice that should we not make it on time, Stuart would return at hourly intervals later, (or send out a search party to look for 4 lost aussies!). Transport was also provided to the Buck Inn for an enjoyable evening meal. Breakfast was substantial and served in the downstairs country kitchen where a huge oil fired cooker has pride of place.
