After being here previously and being disappointed by lack of atmosphere, we decided to give them another try and agreed to check if they had many bookings. We were "informed" it would be buzzing and they had lots of bookings for the date in question.....
The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Very well stocked bar and great choice of drinks. Good wine list too. Food is really good. Menu is small and not very adventuorous - cerainly not french cuicine as it states on trip advisor? Reccommend the roasted veg sharing platter for starter. We all really enjoyed out mains and managed to sqeeze in a pudding too.
For some reason this place just does not seem to get the numbers that the Linthorpe Road places attract which is a real shame, maybe it is just down to location? The building and decor are unique and interesting and this place has always been a favouriet of ours (happy memories of pre-match menus when Boro were in the premiership...) but it i just does not have a buzz about it anymore. However at £30 ahead including tip and plenty of good wine, would good again.
