We stayed in the Blue Bell Lodge over the Easter break for 3 nights and we were speedily checked in by the friendly staff.
We had adjoining rooms 104 and 106 and made immediate use of the coffee/tea making facilities! The rooms were spacious and clean and the bathroom very modern - I guess the room and bathroom have been recently refurbished as everything seemed new.
The lodge itself is easy to find from the A19 but the town centre is in easy reach by car, taxi or bus. Next door is the Blue Bell pub which was friendly with good service and does bar meals. While we were there decking was being built outside for the spring.
The breakfast choice offered was continental, a light bite and "Full English". The "Full English" breakfast @ £4.95 was delicious and set us up for the day and included toast cooked to order and freshly made tea and coffee.
For Captain Cook fans this hotel is a must as it is very near to the Captain Cook Birthplace Museam at Stewart Park and an easy drive to the Cook trail, North Yourkshire Moors and Whitby etc. We also had a run out to Beamish.
