We often need to stay in the Norwich area to visit family and have tried a number of places to stay, Old Thorn Barn provided us with a comfortable night is a small but well and thoughtfully equipped en-suite room at a reasonable price. The bed was comfortable, and everything we needed was provided including some nice touches like a bottle of Radox bubble bath. We care a lot more about the breakfast than we do the room when staying one night, and this one was excellent. You can see the personal touch of owners who are closely involved with running a small, friendly establishment such as this. An interesting assortment of fruit juices was most welcome, and the hot food was cooked to order and was perfect for us in quantity and quality. I especially appreciated smoked haddock without the ghastly yellow dye oozing out!
Five stars would have come the way of this review but for two things. The sound insulation between rooms was a little lacking - we were woken by our neighbours at 1:30am but we forgave them because it's Christmas; and we found it hard to avoid being wrapped up in the wet shower curtain whilst showering. These are minor things that will in no way prevent us returning to this lovely, welcoming, convenient B&B.More
