We were exhibiting at the Norfolk Showground over the weekend, so rather than suffer the excesses of the Premier Inn I found the Ugly Bug Inn on the web, so booked a couple nights there instead. Being less than 10 minutes from the show was helpful but, to be honest, if it had been an hour away it would have still been worth it.
It's a lovely pub that has been tastefully converted to provide both accommodation and wonderful food and I can't praise both highly enough. The rooms are, I'm sure, all different, unlie the generic bed/shower/2 chairs of most chain hotels, but the real joy is the quality and variety of the food. Over the two nights, my wife and I both had the 1/4 of duck but it was more like a 1/4 of swan! Absolutely melt in the mouth.
Al in all I can't rate this place highly enough, and I can only assume that some of the other reviewers on here must be more used to Kubla Khan's Pleasuredome!
When we return for the same show next we're thinking of booking in on Thursday as well, just so we can try more of the menu.More
