I booked a family room here for £30. Since it was so cheap, I was expecting the room to be small, basic and questionably unclean. However, I was surprised to find my room was a great size and very clean!

Hotel was 5 minutes from Train Station and 10 minutes from town so that was fab. Easy check in, spacious, clean airy room. Nice shower, bed was so comfortable we nearly asked what sort it was! Staff very pleasant. All you can eat Breakfast was nice, large range of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, toast spreads along with Eggs, bacon, sausages and beans. Also had television on in breakfast room which was really nice, like being at home watching Saturday Kitchen :o) made it a nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend and happily use again. Very good value for money.

Booked online at 4pm, checked in at 5.30pm. Friendly receptionist took one look at us (older, exhausted couple) and said she'd change our room for a quieter one, then gave us extra towels!?! Top tip: Room 304 is very quiet! No view from smallish window and a stark, basic room but very comfortable bed. We were happy enough...all we wanted was a quiet room with a comfy bed and that's exactly what we got. Tiny bathroom with a fixed shower-head but strong water power. We went to the bar for a pre-drink. The same receptionist served us...bar is small but had good range of drinks, reasonably priced for a city centre hotel. Went out for a meal and had another drink on our return, watching the World Cup in the bar with other guests. Early to bed on hottest night of the year...no air-con, so fitful sleep. Breakfast didn't look worth the money, so didn't bother with it. Checked out, walked across the road to car park and drove off, feeling we'd got our money's worth...Travelodge is a good name for a budget stopover hotel...this cost us £58.50 for a comfy bed and a cool shower. No complaints.

Room Tip: Rooms on third floor at the back are quieter. No ice machine.

We are deeply sorry to learn that you did not find your room to be comfortable JILLSHAX. Unfortunately, due to the hotel’s central location, it is also not always possible to fully reduce the noise that our guests might experience however we make every effort to minimise the noise that might be heard from outside the hotel by insulating the walls and providing double glazed windows. Thank you for staying with us and we assure you that all customer feedback is provided to the hotel directly which helps improve the service they offer.
